So Greg bought the car in 1985 from Mr Brooks for 3500. Greg at the time owned a 70 GS350 4 speed with a GSX paint cheme on it which he had to sell in order to but the X. He kept it till 1990. Greg said he brought it to the GS Nationals and raced it. Got 17 mpg with with three people in the car and ran 14's! True Buick guy- drives his car there, races it all weekend and drives it back home! Funny, I was probably at the Nats at the same time. Greg said the build sheet and POP went with the car. So sadly it got lost between him and Fred Calvert. I have a feeling someone is going to hold me hostage for them in the near future. Greg is going to dig up pictures of the car from his ownership.
I sure hope no one on this forum would hold you hostage for documents they have that you don't. I've had no less than 8 GS cars since the 1980s and kept copies of everything that went with most of the cars when I sold them. If anyone ever asks me for copies of documents they weren't given when they bought the car, they are welcome to anything I have. To me that's just part of the fellowship we should all share on V8.
Too bad it wasn't mandatory that all paper work was to stay with the vehicles then not many people would be missing it. I have nothing on my Riv, no real history on it's past either. Apparently a Doctor in Oklahoma ordered it new in 69 but who knows if that's true, aren't all our cars missing paperwork order by doctors
Mike Brooks, the son of the original owner is flying into BG on Friday to meet me and see his dad's car for the first time since 1984. He'll be seeing it on Friday which is the 13th. His father bought the car on May 13th 1970. Exactly 52 years to the day You literally can't make this stuff up. I think its a sign

This was taken in Modesto California right before the family got transferred to Okinawa for three years. The X stayed in that garage while the family was overseas That us Mr Brooks, the older kid is Mike and his younger brother Kevin
