I think Bobb is too busy building kick ass Buicks to post on here: http://www.finishlinemotorsports.com
I'm afraid o don't have a definitive answer for you, but when I spoke to Bobb about doing my heads (its been a few years ago) its sounded as though they would be the ones doing them. Maybe they farm out the CNC and/or flow bench testing??? I don't know for sure. I was more chiming in to let Gary know that its highly unlikely Bobb will be posting here.
http://www.buyracingparts.com/blog/...-for-all-v8-buick-aftermarket-cylinder-heads/ Not sure if this is in house or not? May be who ports for Bob? Derek
No offense taken, I just wanted to be clear that I didn't know for a fact whether they had the equipment on site or not, and don't want to pass along wrong info about finish line.
This is a totally fantastic discussion....I'm learning a great deal. Thanks so much. I don't think Greg G. does head porting anymore. Seems like I saw or someone told me he went into strictly selling. Of course, I could be wrong and would hate to stop any work from Greg. Len
May I ask why they don't use a flowbench? Even the vary best porters and air flow researchers use a flow bench! By not using one they never will know the true potential of a cylinder head attended for a certain. build! Look at Dart, Brodix, AFR, Reher-Morrison , Sonny's Racing engines and many more, they even use the flowbench on mild builds, that's called tuning the induction system. You can come close but never full potential without a flowbench...
That's hard to believe he is to busy! Darin M. , AFR, BRODIX, Sonny of sonny's racing engine and many more have wrotin me, Bobb doesn't do Buicks 24/7. Its his choice not to chime in.
I posted something wrong in here. I said Harld Bettes redid his book Engine Airflow! I was wrong on that one. but there is a new book called " Practical Engine Airflow : performance theory and applications . by John Baechtel , fromer hot rod magazine editor and founder of Westech Performance Group. I'm thinking I might get it! Also this book "Performance Exhaust Systems : How to design, Fabricate & Install." The explains about tuning the system to your engine. I'm also gonna get "Competition Engine Building :Advanced Engine design &Assembly Techniques . Even though I went to school for this crap, I need refreshing....
