Yesterday at this time 9:30 AM it was 8 degrees today same time 30 deg...... Although it feels colder today than yesterday.
I saw 12 degrees on the thermometer this morning. The coldest temperature that I have seen since we moved to Alabama in 2007.
The Buchev was a 6.2 GM Diesel. It would start at zero without the block heater, but I would start to get a little cabin heat just as I turned up the driveway to work (about five miles) With the block heater there was at least some heat before I was out of my short driveway. The block heater was for me, not the truck.
Hmmm.... it's 57F here in Tampa Bay now... sky's are crystal clear... I have half a tank of gas.... half a pack of cigarettes... Sorry guys, I'm taking the GS400 out to finish my Christmas shopping! I know that the temperature is going to drop as the day goes on, but the heat works pretty good in it. The only thing I missing here is "It's dark out and we're wearing sunglasses".
I have always found its the windchill that bites. When working on aircraft at the ramp I would much prefer -25 C and no wind over even -5 C and really windy, it just whips the heat away and chills you to the bone....
23-27 and freezing rain since 6pm last night. 52 on Christmas day. Too close to Portland OR is my location.
The last warm day of 2022. We made it up to 86° today, and of course I had my shirt off. The cold front has made it to South Florida, and the temperature is going to start dropping tonight. It’s all ready 76° which is almost a 10° drop from this afternoon. I hate long pants and I hate a jacket. Guess I better get used to it
Currently 7F. Pretty cold for here although 20-30 years ago we'd typically see below zero 1-2 nights/winter.
All day Friday was -5 in my area wind chill was -20 This morning Saturday we had winds of 30 mph and 1 above 0 now at 7 am so still have the high winds so far today.
