It never even got above freezing today, here in SC. Started out at a mere 14 degrees F this morning. BRRRR!
We got above zero today for the first time since Wednesday, it hit 1! Still blowing and drifting though and wind chills well below zero.
Saturday Morning it was -6 when I woke up, but 30-40 MPH wind gusts were much more of an issue! Even sprinting from the house to the shop was tough! God Bless & Merry Christmas Bill https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...ar-transport-hauling-open-or-enclosed.614419/
John, hope you got the Jack Daniels out. Don't want you getting hypothermia with you current low 40's and rain. Brrr
The driving ban has been lifted in my area after 3 days. Most businesses are still closed. Two of my cars that are parked outside had the engine compartments packed with snow that had to be cleaned out. One had the battery take a crap and froze solid, bulging on the sides. It was almost 5 years old so time to replace anyway. Its like ground hog day here, constantly snow blowing and shoveling every morning and afternoon, probably got 5 ft of snow over the last 3 days.. Currently 18 deg F here with forecasted temps in the low 50's for the weekend. Christmas was a bust for visiting anyone, oh well. Looking forward to going on a cruise soon.
I don't expect a pity party, but by Florida standards it was cold here. On Christmas day it reached 52 degrees here in Naples, which made a new record for the coldest high temperature on December 25 ever. It was about the same today. I did about 1/2 hour worth of yard work this afternoon.
I hope you weren't hit by any falling iguanas ,,, My brother lives on the other side of Okeechobee , in West Palm Beach
Oh yes, today is the day. What is going to happen today? The sun is going to come out after almost 4 agonizing days. It is getting brighter and brighter right this minute and in about one hour I will be looking up at totally blue skies and a bright sun. The temperature? The temperature will be going up and up and up. It is already 61°, and we are predicted to hit a high in the lower 70s today by afternoon. Maybe I should open up the windows and doors in the house to let the warm air in.
As John Everett would say, show me a picture or I don’t believe it. Here’s a picture of my northwest sky. The clouds and associated moisture are heading to the Southeast. So more and more blue sky will be opening up very soon. I can’t wait!
Look at this! I went in the house to brush my teeth and wash my face. When I came out I see even more blue. I can hear Elvis singing right now, “I’ll have a blue Christmas without you!”
