well I still tow and run them hard all winter so a 12 hour run towing still needs a bit of viscosity even when it’s cold
...then you're gonna love mid-Atlantic Christmas weekend . Looks like precip leaves right when sub-freezing temps arrive, no white Christmas. I have mixed feelings about that, been awhile since we've had one..
I like the cold more than most and hate the heat but that's cold. My old 7.3IDI likes that block heater no matter how good the batteries are. Currently it's a plug in hybrid at the price of new batteries and how little I use it. Never tried a BH on a gas engine.
I can’t believe I’m wearing shoes and socks. I even have a T-shirt on. I had to sit in the shade because I was starting to sweat. There is a nice breeze going on in the shade. It’s gonna get cold in a couple days …
I tried out an apple crown today at the bar with my cousin. It was delicious on the rocks, so I bought some of it for Christmas day. I got my wife a bottle of Jameson because my sons drank hers! I got the Bacardi to go with the eggnog on Sunday morning, or whenever Christmas is.
I was stationed in Alaska once upon a time. Once it gets to about -10, IMO, -30 isn't much different. Even there I never used block heaters though. Just a good Interstate Battery Supposed to be 7 by tomorrow night. Work said to telework today, and then came back and told us not to come in tomorrow either.
Akron Ohio 46 degrees today expects 2 degrees tomorrow rapid temperature drop predicted. Warning some vehicles to stay off the toll road tomorrow. Browns game on Christmas Eve at 1pm is expected to be windy and 10 degrees. But Santa is coming! Merry Christmas All!!
That's much too cold. Don't push it, we only test fuel systems to -40° which is where Fahrenheit and Celsius meet. The only person I know who might be colder than you is a student of mine with RCMP in Nunavut. Devon
I'm wearing shorts and a t-shirt where it's currently 72 degrees F......on the inside wall. Outside of that wall, it's about 95 degrees colder. I won't be venturing outdoors anytime soon. Temps are supposed to rise to the low to mid 40's by Sunday. Chinooks are amazing.
Well after a week of -30 to -35 C and wind chills to mid -40's like we just had/are having you might really change your mind Dan! Not very productive to anything car related, that's for sure. I run a block heater anytime it hits -20 C, truck starts fine with or without but it helps with engine wear and faster warmup. You need some heat to keep the windshield clear despite all the cities that prohibit idling...easy to pass laws like that when your limo has a driver and its already warm when you get to it. The best part of temps that cold is the winter tires...when you first pull away its like driving over a speed bump every 6 feet, then on the first corner the flat spots get out of sync and its like driving over boulders on a gravel road until the tires become round again. It is rather amusing. And yes at -35 you need little things like that to keep your sense of humour....
Been through that in Idaho, -28 with a wind chill to -60. It's about +60 outside right now. All you folks in cold country, stay safe and warm!
