Perhaps it is to prove you're smarter than those who purchase everything? Smart stealing, you call it?

After the first time it gets easier on the conschense. The self check out just made it too iresistable. Unless your mr warbucks you go through the checkout. You always walk away looking at your recipt. You go through the self checkout. Get 10 pieces of wood pay for 8 or 9. You walk out feeling great.

I agree what you have said but I think there is more to this. Those loosers have no future. They will never own homes. In the past if a couple with minimum wage jobs combined could still afford a home. So why should the new generation give a f _ _ _ _ Not that I am a racist , I was married to an imigrant but I believe there needs to be limits put in place legal or illegal. I believe there is a hidden agenda to keep the immigration flow to continue to ensure a cheap labor force and keep wages low. It all comes down to profit. The government pretends to deal with illegal immigration and what you see is just for show. Put the army on the border and we would see a totally different scenario.

 

So tell me something. If I'm working for you and I hustle up a side job, (not a current customer of yours) and I do it on my time, using my vehicle, and using my tools and all, how is that stealing from you???

Why would someone being a thief and admitting to it, change the way I feel about how convenient it is for me to get out of a store? The big stores factor in theft into their pricing already, so the argument that it costs us more won't fly here.

The fact that someone can admit to their peers they are stealing, and use "I feel good about it" as a reasoning, is a sad commentary on the state of our society.

It does appear at least some look at self check out as an opportunity to steal.

It is sad, and the problem is worsening. Home Depot calls theft "shrink", and it is growing so quickly they've publicly said it is the biggest threat to their margins.

It totally does cost you more, because the "factoring" in of "shrinkage" as they call it adds to the cost of goods. It's business, the customer pays for everything.

 

In most retail business employee theft and admin theft, imbesselment, far excedes the walk in the door theft.

 

Working as an unlicensed contractor, and all A/C related work is considered state regulated, therefore said side job would be illegal and a felony. Also any homeowner knowingly hiring a unlicensed contractor to perform any state regulated work is guilty of a felony. So it would be stealing from me or any other licensed contractor due to the fact above homeowner didnt call and hire any of us who have paid the dues, jumped through the hoops to carry the license as well as all the required ins. On top of that if anything you did on said job caused damage to the property directly or indirectly the homeowners insurance would not cover the repairs and or drop the policy. I see you doing it I'll drop a dime on ya in a second.

I should confess. I once stole the original copy of the declaration of independence. There was a treasure map on the back that led to a chest of coupons for shipping buick parts cheap through UPS. It was quite an ordeal. Someone could have written a crappy movie about it.

 

There was no tantrum nor cart load left in the "middle" of the store. They had check outs with humans when I arrived yet when I was ready to purchase none where open. I asked politely and was told they had self check out on every ocassion. I thanked them and walked away. Leaving the cart load right In front of them . I'm sure they knew what to do with it. I wasted my time filling it, the least that they could do is take my money with a smile and thank me for my business. They chose not to, not me. I don't run their show but I do run mine.
