Are you sick of self serve check out being crammed down your throat?

As a small business owner, I also try to support the other small businesses as well, but for me being on the road a lot of the time.....There is a Wally World on every corner & I can always get my dually & enclosed trailer in without an issue. Run in run out & get back on the road.

I live in a very small town, so small the grocery store manager (great guy) drives the school bus as well! LOL I try to support them as much as I can, but some things they just don't have for me.

And who are you to determine how much loss a business can take before it goes broke? All your attitude does is raise prices for all of us. Stealing is wrong, no matter how little You think it is. Sounds like you need a little lesson in wild west law where they bury you before anyone even knows about it.

Come try stealing something from my shop...you may end up uh, on the wrong side of the grass.

Perhaps it's the 99.8% of us that are the fools? We're all still stuck in the archaic era of earning money and subsequently paying for goods and services.

We can be a civil and orderly society without the rules and those that may attempt to enforce them, right?

Would those coupons for the free items be for greater value than the paid for items...

example buy 3 bananas receive 2 big screen TVs.... That should come to less the 900$ limit...

I'm a busy guy... if I'm going to a store it's because I need something. I don't go there to linger and I usually have to leave something to get to the store and I'm in a hurry to go somewhere else. If I can save myself 10 min by avoiding a line and doing self-checkout, I will, and I appreciate the opportunity. There is only one store locally that has gone "full" self-checkout, but there are 3-4 staff hanging around to assist people with things. And for what it's worth, I pay for everything I bring to the checkout.... I have to stare at the guy in the mirror everyday after all!

 

I just went to Home Depot to get a key made and they have an automated self-service machine for that. It was great, did not have to track down the 'key maker' guy or deal with idle chit-chat while he is making my key.

Made my own key, used self-check out to pay for it and I was on with my day!

 

You can even just return them at the checkout and the store will restock them.

 

But the problem is the 'adults' that have temper tantrums like children and just leave their cart full of groceries in the middle of the store.

 

Here's what annoys me the most. At the local dollar general the cashiers will leave the register after they ring up the customer to go merchandise. Now thats fine, because that's part of their job.

But why don't they stay near sight of the register if they see they have customers in the store?

Why do I have to track them down and let them know im ready to check out?

So instead im left with two options either wander the isles to look for an associate who usually radios the other employee to meet me at the register or leave my stuff and go.

What would ya do?

 

I don't shop at dollar general or any of the clones. I don't think those stores ever get cleaned. Same for the workers.

 

Just type in Dollar General rats and your search engine will do the rest...

 

So no one has ever put something in their pocket. Or bottom of tool bag. Or inside if a door at a wrecking yard.

If the guy is just going to do it anyway in his own vehical. Every side job is expiearance learned for your employee that your not paying for.

 

Only 2 places I actually steal from. Wrecking yard and home depot. Not every time i go. But if i buy a box of deck screws i open it and fill all the empty space with another box. And maby Ive baught a water heater and put in all the rest of hardware and solder and stuff in the box. Thats not smart stealing? So its below your dignity. Every body has things they do that someware someone will scoff at. Ive worked at shops, all bosses are lifetime mentors and friends.

 

Not as an adult. I stopped when I got a conscience and real sense of right and wrong about 8 years old. You teaching your kids these practices?
