    Joe,
I build my own engines. I have them machined at R&R engineering in Addison. They do a great job, have used them for years.

Not really. I mean that's partly true, but he didn't quit Buicks just because of the payouts. Mostly, he was tired of pouring money into the weak Buick blocks. He went pro-mod racing for a while with a BBC in the Regal since they usually got appearance money, and he has occasionally complained about the poor payouts in BG, but you gotta remember, the last time he had a Buick motor in the Regal (prior to Salem in '04) was around '96 and the GS Nats was the only big game in town. At that time, you didn't have many Buick races to attend, let alone run for some decent money. I mean, Jim Haas had great payouts at Buicks at Bristol, but that event didn't even start until '97 and Scotty was already done running the Buick motor by then. He had way too much tied up in the car to run it just twice a year at Buick events in BG and E-Town. He was ahead of his time, really. He went too fast, too soon. There weren't enough good parts available to support the HP he was making back then. He told me recently that if a new block had come out (not saying it ever will :Dou: ) ten years ago when Mike first started talking about doing it, he'd have had one in the Regal and would probably still be running the car. He said the only reason he sold the car was because it couldn't fit the 700+ CI BBC he wants to run now under the hood. If he'd had a reliable Buick block and the number of races we now have to choose from, he'd said he'd love to still be racing with us "Buick Idiots" (as he calls us). When he ran the car at Salem he said it felt like BG in the old days, when he had a great time and always made a splash at the Nats. He also said he may borrow my Bulldog Block motor (if it ever happens) and come out and give you a run for your money. Of course, he'd have to do it in a Chevy, since I highly doubt he'd build another Buick bodied car.

    New Block From Ta

I talked to Mike Tomaszewski today regarding some camshaft selections for some motors I am doing and we got on the topic of him building a block for us V8 guys. I've known Mike for quite awhile and we've talked about this many times and today when we talked he told me that he is now in a position to start building these V8 blocks. Before the timing was bad due to the V6 block being produced first but he had an opportunity to make that project get off the ground at that time. By the time he got finished designing and building the V6 block, he had already had the blueprints almost finished for the 455. That's when Bulldog announced they were going to build a V8 block. So Mike decided to back burner the project for awhile knowing full well that he would someday build an after market block. Regardless of what is going on with the Bulldog block, Mike is on his 3rd batch of V6 blocks and now feels it's time to move on and build a TA 455 block. Now the million dollar question is, how many people are seriously interested in buying one of these blocks? Mike would like to know if he is wasting his time and money doing this project at this time. Please post on here or PM me if you are interested.....Chris Skaling.

I would say, at this time, he'd be wasting his time and money. Six months from now that might not be the case. I'd imagine the window is closing on Dick Bradshaw if he doesn't get his a$$ in gear. My patience runs longer than most peoples and now it's wearing thin. I'd say May or June would be a better time for Mike to ask about interest in a T/A block, instead of throwing that red herring out there now to try and start a revolt to put Bradshaw out of business.

I think Bradshaw is doing a pretty good job of that himself.

He's not done himself any favors, that's for certain.

I don't have the money, but I personnaly would rather buy a block from a buick man than a X-scammer. Guys get your money back and back T/A on this one. My 2

I think we all know Mike well enough that if he says he's going to do something he carries through. Probably won't be asking for deposits that would be tied up for months or years either. I think I'll throw in with the TA camp. The block should be out by the time my X is done and i'm ready for the race car project. This is great news. Tom

ta seems to have their own time table. i think when he is ready ...he will do one. regardless of the bullfrog... i mean bulldog  if they were both available and iwhere in that market(i'm not) i would go with ta just because of the support and stupid questions they have answered for me over the years...that and i don't think they would dick me around on a piece like this..

We need something Chris i talked to Mike T Monday. We talked about a New Aftermarket Block. He wants to do one. I am shure it will be Aluminum. What i hate about the V8 Buick world is it movies to slow. No matter where you get your Parts from. The Buick V6 world movies alot Faster part's and Car's. I wish someone would Produce a Block that will hold up to alot of Power and not fall apart. These has been going on for three year's now. If other's need to step to the plate do so the more the the better. Let's see it i will purchase one or two. I am so tired of he said she said crape. In less i can see it and put my hands on it. I am not sold. I think it is Cool Mike is going to do a Block.I think he should have did one along time ago way before the V6 Block. Mike has always Raced a V8 Buick. I was shocked when he did a V6 first.

T/A Aluminum V6 is a very nice Piece. I am shure when he builds a V8 Block it will be very nice Piece as well.
I think we V8 Buick Guys have needed a Block way before the V6 guys lets face it they Quit building 455 blocks in 1976 that was 30 years ago.
When did they Quit Building the Stage 2 V6 Block 1990-1995.

I hate how everything becomes a Pissing match. The Buick V8 world is very small in the Racing world. You can't vendors work togeather?. We are way over do for a AftermarketBlock.

People need to be more personable and Talk to you like your a Best Friend i talk to almost eveyone like that that are my friends or Customers. Friendly People go along way in my Book. Let's all be friends not hater's

    No red herring

Doug, Mike has been talking to me about building this V8 block long before Dick came into the picture, the funny thing is Mike has never said a bad thing to me about Dick or his block. Mike is not trying to put Dick out of business, he's simply looking after his own business and taking it to the next level. The one thing I know is if Mike steps up to the plate here and builds a block for us he will handle it like true professional and there will be NO empty promises and the product will be 110%.......Chris
