Been a couple of weeks since ive updated. Havent had much progress on the car, but a little bit here and there. Mainly working on a smooth firewall so i can start running all the wiring in the dash/ firewall. Hoping to get the firewall in paint in the next week or so

Working yourself to death with that filler,...get a can of Z-grip or rage gold evercoat,..or platinum 3M followed with dolphin glaze

Would i be able to use the dolphin glaze over top of the filler i have on there now followed by a primer surfacer?

    Absolutely that's what it's for,...tying coats together,..filling pinholes,...sand like butter

Perfect, i will look into getting some on the way here. I still have a little more prep work before im ready for primer

Wouldn't you want something more durable (epoxy?) for filling pinholes? I'd think easy-sanding wouldn't necissarily be desirable for that.

Nah that's the purpose for finishing glaze thinner to get into and full the holes,..then topcoat with with a 2k primer and you're golden

Did some work on the car tonight. Had to back track only slightly here. When i ordered the cowl section back in 2019 2020 from opgi. I ordered the piece that was labeled for a 70-72 skylark. I have since then found out that the bracket the brake pedal bracket mounts to is different from the 70-72 chevelle (turns out in order to get the correct bracket you need to order the 68-69 chevelle inner outer cowl piece). Didnt catch this when the shop welded the new piece in until a little while ago. Sourced out a piece from a parts car (thanks brian trick) drilled out some spot welds and am about ready to tack the new used piece into place :)
Top picture is the piece that i have to replace

Holy cow cant believe i havent updated this since August of last year!! that is completely my fault  progress has been very slow going over the course of the winter. School and work has been taking up all of my free time the last couple of months. Here is where we are at right now:
▪︎top of firewall/lower windshield cowl area is almost ready for a fresh coat of paint in the next couple of weeks.

▪︎AC delete plate is attached to firewall permanently with a new blower motor.

▪︎Motor is very close to being ready for break in. Just waiting on my intake to comeback from the fab shop with the bungs for the fuel injectors (ive only been waiting on that for the last 5-6 months:rolleyes:). Once i get that back i can get that up to Gary for some finishing touches to get motor broke in :)

▪︎Need a 4L80E transmission rebuild and rear axle put together from quick performance

▪︎Will be ordering an aeromotive Gen II stealth fuel tank so electric fuel pump and sending unit are contained in the tank, will need to run fuel and brake lines as well

▪︎Aluminum motor mount frame pads are installed on the engine bay

Its not much progress but its still some progress. Just have to keep plugging away at it and start checking more things off of the list to get this thing on the street and the strip. I will be headed to my first Buick GS nationals this year, and will be picking up some other small parts as well. Hope to see you guys down there!

Max Damage I'm working on it!

Carefully reread your paint coating curing times. You want to have that all wired before you start spraying.

Will do. Its taken me a lot longer on this section than i anticipated, and the last thing i want to do is screw it up. I dont want to take any steps backwards here
