Ready for my 72 buick to be shipped out and have the sheet metal repaired and replaced so i can get it back for paint and reassembly. And most of all cruising time with the buick community and all other classic car enthusiasts as well!! Just stripping the car down to just a bare rolling shell
Pics of the car before we got this far. There were/are a few uglies underneath it we didnt know about
Good luck! On my 69 Riv I'm working on all the drivetrain, interior and running gear/suspension stuff first then going to do the body and paint. My car is mostly rust free but just this year I noticed a few "uglies" starting to poke their heads out where the old trim mounting holes were that were filled halfa$$ like.
I have the car down to a rolling chassis, pulled engine and trans today, just stripping the car down to bare metal and cleaning it up for the guys to come and look at it before they take it!
I did before i started sanding I am replacing all brake and fuel lines with stainless steel lines when the car comes back
Just getting all odds and ends buttoned up before car gets picked up to head down to Iron City Rods and Customs on Feb. 29th
Car was sent out yesterday. So if everything will go according to plan, it will be back in about 4 months
i am the paint and body man on this project lol the shop it is going to is going to fix all of the sheet metal on the car, powder coat frame and rebuild the suspension. Then send it back in epoxy so i can block it and spray it
Nice. Must be nice to have the skills to do the hard part! I'm just not artistic enough to do that work, but I am a good helper!
I have had a lot of advice from many people on this board like hugger, and countless others to help guide me in body work. Just takes lots and lots of patience as well as time to do it lol
Got to go down and see the car before i worked today. Had a nice drive down to pittsburgh, and saw what was left on it right now, even though it looks a little bad in the pictures. Im still happy with how it looks right now, and think its on the right track to becoming road worthy again
Yes it is. They are going to fix the car from the inside out so it will be 100% rust free and solid when i get it back. So maybe one day soon i can take you for a ride in it Tim!
That looks like a 72 gsx or a 72 gsx clone. I think i actually saw that car on the internet about a year and a half, after we painted it in the black red silver scheme, and thought to myself that it was a good looking combo especially since the colors were flopped
