I thought that on the front car but not the back one. There's hardware that locks the racks in place that I see now on the back upright & may be what I'm seeing on the front one too so you're prob. correct - Wishful thinking. I'd imagine it was somewhat unusual to have a GS come in.
So even back then they assembled Skylarks/GS's and Cutlass/442's on the same line? Anyone know what plant they were from. I went to the GM plant in Framingham MA around 1980 and Regals and Cutlasses were being made..
Except @ Flint (Buick), Lansing (Olds), & I assume back then Chev. & Pontiac, & Cadillac also ea. still had one assy. plant under their control.
Although the repairs have slowed down considerably, I do keep finding odds and ends to clean or fix. I looked up yesterday and noticed the shoulder belts are absolutely filthy. You'd swear they were brown! Probably that Texas dust from the mid 70s!
Ordered my 45 degree adapter for the original oil sender and a correct water temp gauge from Mr Miller. The csr pretty much runs at a consistent temp and I have a good understanding of what the oil pressures are at various rpm's so the aftermarket gauges can finally come out Stay tuned!
11-12 psi/1000 RPM is what you want to be comfortable. I wouldn't be winging that motor that high, but 65 psi should be OK. Through the traps, at 5500 +, I am at 75-80. Which sender did you go with? 60 or 80 psi?
Im just messing with Stacy. I don't think I reved it past 4k so far. Cruising at around 2800 it's about 50 lbs
You want me to take it for a drive like I did to Jimmy's in Flint I believe? Don't think he will ask me again to drive one of his cars. LOL
Jason- I may be getting a little loopy in my old age... Didn't you post something about you wanting to repair you PS radiator support? And Duane replied "look at the thread I posted about repair pieces and templates"??? Here is the link he was referring to... https://www.v8buick.com/index.php?t...t-so-it-looks-original-once-installed.363432/
You are a little loopy and old but that's besides the point... Yeah, the right side core support has an old repair on it from the 80s. It's not really on the priority list but I'd like to address it at some point.
