Here we go again! GSX #508 needs a little fine tuning and what I like to call "Jason-izing". Overall the car is in great shape for a basically unrestored car. But it suffered from 1990s era fixing up. Various little screws, hardware,, clips,, etc have been replaced with non original stuff. The owner prior to Mike sent the shifter out to Hurst and had the handle rechromed. It looks out of place now against the original interior.

The owner prior to Mike also replaced the window cranks with repros. Probably because the originals turned yellow. I'll be replacing those with nice, slightly yellowed originals

The hood latch needs to go. Its gorgeous- freshly gold cad plated. Needs to be replaced with a slightly worn original.

Someone spray painted the z bar silver. The paint will be removed and hopefully the worn gray phosphate will be revealed.

I have some plans to spruce up the interior without changing the vibe of it.

So there are a ton of little odds and ends that need to be addressed. I'll be chronicling it all in this thread

    So let the games begin!

I've already started stripping the car of all its non original hardware. I was able to find most of what I need in the basement. Some of the stuff I don't have I'll have to get from Todd.

Tach has been removed and is boxed up ready to ship off to Scott moody

So you are going with the unrestored vibe on this one?

Its basically an original paint, original stripe car. The new shiny parts dont really fit on this car. Its a little rough around the edges. Trying to undo a few of the wrongs and gt it looking uniform

Sitting in my garage. Gas smelled like turpentine in it. Ran it to the gas station and filled it up.

What the car needs most right now is use! I want to run a couple tanks through it and give it my super tune

Spoiler is sitting there waiting on the correct hardware from Todd

Curious as to what exhaust system is currently on the car and if it’s days are numbered.

508 is sporting a Gardiner exhaust. Looks to be in pretty good shape and it sounds like a 455 should
