Your system shows 4 available in Aisle 3 , 2nd shelf up on the right beside the 3 NOS interior door handles
After a little elbow grease. If the rears didn't have threads, I'd swear they were NOS. They cleaned up nice!
I found a set of original retainers that had the correct "patina". The pal nuts still had the original phosphate coating on them! Thats original paint! @Ryans-GSX another pic with my bracelet in it! Lol
Fred, Deogi2 graciously donated his original carpet set out of his 4 speed GSX to the cause. It is en route. The carpet set in there had been replaced at one time. He mentioned the rear set is faded. So I ordered an automotive carpet dying kit. Ordered a set of T-3s from Mr Miller too Im gonna start drilling down on the details now....
T-3 installed today! They look awesome Removed the replacement carpet set that smelled like mouse pee. Good riddance! It was pretty faded too. And a huge thanks to @Deogi2 for donating his original carpet set to me. Fit like...well factory! And it's worn perfectly. Fits the car to a "T" . Who says buick guts don't recycle?
Nice work Jason! Side note/question, is there any way to remove the bucket seat skins and stitch the splits back together?? Or use some upholstery adhesive and material patches from the backside to repair them rather that replacing them with repro's?? Or are you just going to rock the split seat look??
Whats funny is the original, 52 year old carpet set was in better shape and less faded than the replacement!
The car definitely smells 100 times better since swapping out the carpets but it still has a slight wiff of pee.... Took out the kick panels and gave them a scrubbing with hot water. Thry didnt smell all that fresh Carpets had 52 years worth of dirt imbedded in them. Love it when brown water comes off them! I re-dyed the carpets to spruce them up a little. They're definitely blacker! Once they dry, I might give the plastic a misting of Sem vinyl dye. So far-
That's an awesome picture. Looks like maybe the last car is a GS (kinda looks like fender emblems in the correct location).
Gave just the front edge a mist of Sem. Just enough to get rid of the grayish tint the plastic had. The Sem matches so well, you can't tell what's been painted and what's bare plastic They're on my deck drying in the sun
