Two very honorable people, a great thing to do for a another person. Mike also did some very nice things for Jason early on. The way people should be.....
Congrats to both on the silver.

Thank you all. It was the right thing to do. Thst plaque belonged with Mike and it meant more to him than I even imagined. I'm glad.

What I didn't mention is when we met on the show field, he gave me a GSX poster that his father had hung up in his office for years. Mikes friend Bart made a decal that reads-

    Phillip N Brooks
    May 13th 1970

Which was the date he had purchased the car. Im going to hang the poster up in my office now. It's amazing how one car can touch so many lives and make so many friends for life. Chokes me up a little...

Im thankful and blessed to be a part of this community. I'm a Buick GS "lifer" lol

That was a standup thing to do to give him that award, every time he looks at it he will think of his dad and the great memories his family had with that car. Reunited exactly 52 years later. Alotta emotions right there. I bet we all wish we could have story like that to relive the past,, I know I do.
    Good job Lester

That's awesome Jason. You could see the emotion of that moment, and the memories it brought back. Good job Clem.:)

I really wanted him to drive it but it was already entered in the class. Mike will be coming to my house in the fall so I fully intend to have him drive the car. Or maybe I should make him sit in the back like he was 13 again. Lol

And make sure to yell at him "sit down and be quiet or I'll turn this car around and you'll be sorry mister":p:D

Ok, enough chatter! We have work to do!!!

New project- Cleaning and detailing marker lights. The marker lights need a going over and polishing. The rear rubber gaskets are heavily deteriorated. The front plastic gaskets are broken and look almost gray. I bought a new set from CARS.

And you'll never guess!!! The pal nuts were painted.....you guessed it! SILVER!! yay....I almost forgot the joys of silver paint removal. And three of the 4 retainer look too new, like someone repainted them at some point. One front one looks like it should and the way I've always seen them- with a light coat of surface rust.

I'll have to go in the archives and see if I have some originals that have more of a factory finish
