thanks guys, since Quadrajet power is busy for the next 20 weeks and i wanted to learn rebuilding my QJets anyways, i decided to order a KIT and go to town myself wish me luck lol
Ok I scored a poston s-divider ...I know it's not the best intake but it saves me 60lbs lol. And it is milled on the dual divider and I use a 1" spacer so that will help a little bit. The engine internal seem to be in good working order I made sure to fill up the lifters and cam with 20w 50 zinc oil...just for a piece of mind. + I got a qjet rebuilt kit from mark. It's my 1st time on a qjet. So let the fun begin
Gunk 3 cans. And purple power. And alot of elbow grease lol. + a power washer lol. Paint is the Duplicolor spray cans. They work great I had leftovers from my 350

I am bringing this topic back , since i am planning on starting on this soon. I was wondering about the "reliability" of the 455 . I am planning on having this truck as a 3-4 days per week driver. I also have a standalone LS5.3/Cammed, Carbed that would be a easy fit and honestly probably will increase the value of the turck , over the 455 ( since usual people dont know much about 455s) Opinions?
Put an electronic ignition conversion kit in it, that'll help with the starting & drivability as a daily driver. I have a real soft spot for these '69 C10s. I had an all black LWB Fleetside '69 CST (Custom Sport Truck) with a factory 396/TH400, buckets, console, gauges, tach, A/C, etc. , never should have sold it.
new HEI is already on the Motor i have a rebuild Qjet but was thinking about a EFI System such as Sniper/ FiTech for reliability
The Quadrajet is not a hard carburetor to go through. The most difficult things do do are to remove the walking beam accelerator pump lever and the choke linkage that disappears into the inner depths of the carburetor body. For the accelerator pump lever, use a punch (which can be made from a finish nail) and drive the roll pin towards the carburetor venturi just enough to lift the lever out of it's slot, but do not drive the roll pin completely out of it's hole. The choke linkage should be removed from the butterfly choke lever but left inside the well where it connects to the choke linkage. If you can get past these minor PIA's, installing a "kit' is easy.

Hi guys a bit of progress going on here.. I cut the Frame to a SWB ; i am waiting for a couple suspension and Trans crossmember parts , then i will rebuild the framer /suspension with a C notch Kit and lower it. I stripped the cab, and started with rust work. 1 of the inner/outer rockers was due as well as couple patches by the window. The cab corners look surprisingly good. Rust reformer is my friend! i will have to wait for a High hump trans tunnel for the TH400 to fit with no issues Further i have to convert it from Manual 3 pedal to Auto pedal. I am definitelyplanning on a Vintage Air system and saw that LONGHORNSS has some brackets for the Sanden 508 compressor. I have to be honest i am struggling with the engine choice! since the purpose of this build changed a bit from HOTROD= BBB, to reliable/drivable Street Truck (Maybe LS 5.3) (MPG becomes a factor now ) I have both engines here so no investment needed. the 5.3 is actually almost fully rebuild with new bearings , honed , mild cam etc. i will CARB this LS regardless since i have the carb setup sitting here. i finish the frame and set the cab back on then i decide about the engine i guess PS: when i pulled the 350 that was in it ( unknown condition) i posted it on a local app for 100$ and BEER it was gone in 20 min. and my beer fridge was full again
I don't think they will. You could compare pictures of the long tubes for a Chevelle or Camaro to the ones for a C10 (with Chevy motors). I think the C10 requires a longer distance from the heads to the under side of the chassis.
