Just so there is NO misunderstanding, I was not demeaning the head that Mike is making in any way. I only meant that we are making a head with a design that will allow porting from lower flow numbers to well up into the 600cfm bracket. Please for everyone, don't take it any other way. ps. Again I do not care what anyone calls my motor. You can call it a "Head of Lettuce"!

Ok mr stock buick man. how much of that buick is really buick? oh by the way 450 to 460 cfm heads have and is competeting in NHRA pro stock class and some of them are actually winning ,by the way a pro stock head would work on a supercharged engine if it done rt. allen johnson heads are great for nitromethane but on alcohol or methanol nope. if think different look who built the heads for the all billet engine Mike Moran built, oh here is a fact for ya, thst car now holds the world record in door slammer outlaw class . now if you want to talk stock shxx then you better add TURBO'S, yes twins to that engine and hang on. Mike is doing a great job for the people. that. want to go fast . oh ask any chevy lover if any big chief, raptor head, brodix bb heads look like a true chevy head? I'll promise they will laugh at you. Like i said at least i'm trying to get a cylinder head made that once was a experimental buick head. the heads Mike. is working on are not for anything that will fit under a stock hood, if you want stock stay with your stock stuff. let the boys that want to really go fast like 10.5 outlaw then let them be. I'm sorry that buick did not develop a high powered head but neither did any of the manufactures did. its time buick stepped up to the new technology that is available. and use it. again good luuck with the stock stuff and that stock buick supercharger. Gary

That looks like some serious motor MR. HardCastle. Do you have nice long wide freeways downunder? Thats just totally sick dude. It must feel like that motor is taking you for a ride!
On a side note , do people still say cherio, or is it just mostly cheers. ? I know a lady from down under and she always says cherio, I said tudalu to her one time and she looked at me like I was crazy. I couldnt remember if she was saying cherio or tudalu. Aparantly it was cherio.

    Ken,
Once again, you don't seem to really know what your talking about when it comes to the parts were working on. I said in my first post here, I'm trying to design it to flow 420 as cast. If you get the port to large it's not going to do well on smaller inch or lower rpm engines. The head THEN can be CNC ported to to achieve greater numbers than your 525 you spoke of. These heads either way will not appeal to the average Buick racer. Ken, TA Performance is building a race head at this time, unless something happens to change that, my plans are to see this project through as I did the block. Please refrain from down playing what you think I'm doing. I'm not saying anything about what your working on, if anything I've always been there for you when you've called.
I just don't want folks to get the wrong impression of what were working on, that's all.

Again for everyone out there. All Buick racers should be more than excited for the BBB head Mike is working on. I never meant to down play what he is doing as I have always supported him and TA Performance. I hope everyone knows the difference between what he and I are doing. I am making a billet head for our race motors, weather we sell any or not. Mike is making a killer head for Buick race motors. His will be cast and everyone should be able to use them. I might even have him cast a solid set for us. For Nostalgia Top Fuel we have to keep the same stock valve angle. My motor will be a canted valve motor. I am not going to take the liberty to give any specs on Mike's head especially since I do not know any. Just from talking to him today we should all be excited, including the 350 guys.

Thanks mate. I actually took the car for a drive down to get a wheel alignment yesterday, and I can say that the car handles the 830+hp well. It feels great when you open her up. The speedo acts like a rev counter.

I cant say I have ever said cherio, but have heard it before. I use cheers, because I like a beer or two I guess.

    Cherio

Man, Royden.... You have all the theoropy you could ever need right under your foot. Well except for rainy days, in that case I would just have a beer and think about driving it, that would bring a smile.

    Right On Dude. Or Cherio

As a small time nobody who would love to see Buick rise up and compete at the drag level. This is what I see.
We have the Block, step one The Tomahawk. If at the same time the Tom was being developed, someone was developing some major head to go with it, everyone would only be looking for an intake. Waiting sucks. Jim Bell got us going, Mike T is getting us there, Eventually I think TA, Mike will have everything to get there and stay there, but for only one company TA , it takes time. It would be great if another company would be out there developing products, but I don't see one. I don't think Mike hasn't thought of all this, Im betting something has been in the works all along over at TA. Time and money will solve this one. Ounce TA recovers from the making of the TomaHawk. I think we will all know somethings about to come out when we see the TA Wagon doing 6 sec 1/4 mile .

Do i have a 6 th sense or what? That was from page 3 of this thread. Thanks Mike T.

I hope the heads are out long before that.......
As someone that knows what it takes to run in the 6's and even the 5's that is a HUGE undertaking.

Lets just say there are a few individuals and companies that are working on the 455 heads and a few that are even working on the 350 heads and intake. This takes time and money so the individuals investment is Large:shock:

Indeed it takes lots of money to make a great head or heads but the out come is worth it in the long run. That's why I have gaven so many cylinder head developers names that have gone 6 seconds and even in the fives. The people i have mentioned know what they are doing and should have a PHD in cylinder head developing. It takes a special breed to do what they do and make it work.

I can't what until someoone decides to have Mike Moran do a 496 or a 555 cid with Mike's. fuel injection and twin turbos, I'll put money down it would go sixes easily and possibly mid five's. I'll even bet he could do a six second street cruiser. if sombeone had the money with the new heads being developed rt now. That's how confident I am with the new heads.

Gary, no offense but Rod has done more...and has represented the Buick community better than just about anybody since I have been in this Buick gig. He has kept the flame lit for us Buick guys over the years when there hasn't been much to talk about. Without guys like Rod, Bobb Mackley, Mike T, etc. This Buick deal would be in the toilet. There has been a lot of people doing a lot of talking here lately about what THEY can bring to the table but to be honest until I see something I can bolt on to my block it's just that...talk.

Isnt this the race section who cares about stock appearing or stock hoods. I mean really? Make a part and proves it worth. The only number besides price I care about is e.t. .

Whats so impressive about a v6 with wheels in air, we did that at KB in 1970's with a NHRA stock V6 2bbl rated at 110hp. Yeah so it had a 60 # flywheel but the car weighed 2888# plus driver, ME! I have a pic of daylight under a tire at Indy! I remember the same thing with a 4 cyl pinto at Pomona. With enough flywheel you could probably launch anything to the moon. lol
