I really liked the last paragraph of the description. If taxes and tolls weren't such an S.O.B. we may have worked something out! Good luck with the sale, such a neat car.
So I just wanted to put a bow tie on this and close out my step child ownership... Car closed on Ebay at $2,126. Kind of disappointing to say the least. I figured the car was good for 2800-3200 which was my target. But....the winner of the auction screwed me. No deposit, no emails...radio silent. So I had to file a non paying bidder claim. Par for the course with Ebay these days. In fact, the last several auto auctions Ive run, Ive had to list the car multiple times to get a bidder willing to complete the sale. Anyway....I digress. So I decided to just put the car on Craigslist and take my chances. So I listed the car on Craigs for $3600. After the usual, "would you take $500??" and "Greetings of the day, Im interested in your item" texts, I get someone over to look at it. Turns out the guy knows me. I tell him everything about the car and then some. Full disclosure. He looked it over and tells me, "ok, I'll take it!" Sold- $3600. I even delivered it to him. Here it is all loaded up my trailer off to its new home. He told me that he was going to send it down to his father in North Carolina who is a retired body man with an empty garage and nothing to work on. So hopefully the car gets restored. Who knows, the next time we see it might be at the car show at the GS nats! So ends the saga of my Minnesota 69 GS-350. I was kinda sad to see it go. Jennifer really liked it.
Hey, it sounds like it may end up getting much needed tlc and a new lease on life which is pretty great imho. One saved from a worse fate!
I like these 69s. I didn't use to, but I have a sweet spot for them now. I like the side styling and the rear bumper styling.
