Have also been thinking about the Moroso Spiral Flows. Have heard a lot of good and some bad. :Do No:

I currently have Hooker Aero Chambers...and I love them...except that they have rusted through after only about 5 or 6 years. If they made an all stainless version, I would stay with them.

Before the Hookers I had the Flowmaster 40s. Never liked them. Too loud, raspy and droney. But they lasted a long time. Had them on there for about 20 years and they were still good when I took them off. Not stainless either.

Had some Glass-packs on before that. They were terrible, burned out the insides rather quickly.

Do you get any drone with these? What's the rest of your exhaust system setup? For as cheap as they are, I was thinking about trying g a set as I'm torn as to whether I like the sound of my magnaflows at WOT or not. I had flow 40's on my car back when it was a 350 w/manifolds and liked the sound d, but they droned like mad. Now with the 455 and long tube headers, I'm wondering if they'd be any better. For the price of the summits, seems like a low risk to experiment...

Has anybody done a 3" system on manifolds?

I just replaced 2-1/4" duals with a full 3" X-pipe system with these http://www.flopro.com/max.html mufflers and it's drone city!

While my engine is VERY happy... I hate it...

Tried long case (18") and short case (14") and all it did was change the "tune" of the drone. Just as loud only a little higher in pitch and a slightly narrower RPM band (centred at 2000) with the shorter one.

Is it the mufflers causing the drone? Or is it a combination of the rest of the system? Is the issue transitioning from the 2-1/4" outlet of the manifold to the 3" pipe acting like a tuba? That's what it sounds like! Maybe mufflers with internal baffling as opposed to straight through??

I don't know what to try next.

Thanks in advance for any input.

    Take Care
