'98 Plymouth Grand Voyager; in all it's screaming glory. Passed first try. Drove a '98 Chevy Pickup, which mom refused to let me take on the driver's test.
2 tries in 1994. Didn't get them the first shot, the tester said I crossed a solid white line when changing lanes.. I knew that rule (did drivers school and they taught the routes that were used for tests and I knew where to change lanes) I argued a little I didn't cross it, but it went no where. Went back the following week and passed. Both times in a Purple 2 door Dodge Shadow belonged to the drivers school.
A 1961 Corvair Monza. The inspector was 6' 4" wearing a big fancy uniform.Barely fit in the car.Made me nervous..he said I went through eight stop signs.I think he lied ,couldn't have been more than six or seven. Rod
I was just came in from working on it in fact. I've got a messed up shoulder from trimming trees, but am trying to get some small things done so I can reinstall the front coil springs next weekend, if my shoulder gets to feeling better. My drivers test drive car was a POS 1975 LTD that my dad used as his work car. I hated that car, but it had the best A/C of any car that I've ever driven.
16 years old, summer of 74, drove to my drivers test in dads 69 wildcat. The instructor said i had developed some bad driving habits:laugh: ...
I took may drivers traning in a 1968 Buick Skylark that was loaned to the local high school by the Buick dealer in town. I took my driving test in my mother's 1964 Buick Special. My Dad, Grandparents and uncle all drove Buicks. Is it any wonder why I have a thing for Buicks now?
I took my first drivers test in early 1979 in my parents 1966 olds delta 88 sports coupe, had a 425 big block olds....
As fate would have it, my dad's 66 Buick Special. I already owned a 63 Impala SS 409 convertible at the time but I figured the smaller and less flashy buick would get me my licence sooner. It did. Tickets quickly followed.:3gears:
May of 1986 in the 69 Skylark convertible! The old bird of an instructor looked like Owen's mom on "Throw Mama from the Train" ou: She gets in, start looking around and says her boyfriend had a 69 convertible just like it - she starts grinnin, so I ask here if she wants the top down for the test. She says no, but put the tunes on! Passed with flyin colours that day! I know of 3 mistakes I made - that old bird was probably thinking of the good times she had in her boyfriends old ride cause she was'nt paying any attention to my driving!:beer
It was my mom,s 1969 Charger 383 magnum. Failed because it idled high and when I put in gear the tires spun.
Hi Ken, It's nice to know that there's someone older then I am on here! I passed my driver's test on November 21, 1960 in my mom's 1949 Plymouth. I try to avoid those old Plymouths at car shows. I might make a financially stupid offer for the right one. I'll bet a nailhead would fit really nicely.
