    Much needed rain.

Nice here today also, we finally got a good rain yesterday. It had been so long since it had rained hard for more than a couple of minutes it seemed strange...

Heh...I COULD have put the top down today but I was just too busy demolishing my house to take a time-out :ball:

...it was a balmy 50-something. BillMah52 was over and I even said we should back BigRed out for a JimLore Photo op

It is really something when it is in the 50s up your way on 12-29-07. We are sitting here tonight with the doors to the sreened porch open. It must still be close to 70. We are having a cruise in Jan 1 even though the temps are supposed to drop to the upper 50s.

What is the demo occasion? Making room for more Buicks?

I took advantage of the mid 50* temps today. Took the GS out for a cruise over to Bruno's GS Parts Emporium:laugh: On the way home I stopped on my favorite stretch of empty road. Eased into it gradually from a dead stop, then nailed it. It hit second gear and went sideways on me. Love that Buick Torque! Glad I was able to get her out today. It's been 5 weeks since I drove her last.

His Blue GS is not running. We are not sure if it is Ignition or Fuel Related. Didn't have enough time to look at it. It got dark. He broke a few stock rocker arms and bent a push rod at Atco. He put some roller rockers on and it wouldn't run for some reason. Will have to look at it when the weather is good, and we have more day light.

You know a cold wave has struck when the high temp in Miami Fla. today is 57 F. Yesterday here we had a cruise in with a bunch of cars in 55 degree weather but today is darn cold and windy. No top down weather here. The good news is that by the weekend and through next week we are projected to hit the 60s and perhaps 70 again.

It's 35 here at the beach wind blowing 30mph snow flake every now and then.
No top down or stripper fishing today.

They're predicting 5" of rain in the Santa Cruz mountains over the next 4 days.

Got the hatches battened down and the Buick excercised yesterday. Top down of course.

I stayed out at the cabin last night to run the water every so often so the pipes wouldn't freeze. Got down to around 20. In the morning, the shower was just dribbling, no hot water in the bathroom sink. Got them all running again fairly quickly inside the cabin but the outside hose faucets were frozen although I'd left them dripping. We're not set up for the cold down here. Should be in the 70s again by the weekend. Yeah I know, I need to insulate the pipes and faucets.

I threw a 4x8 piece of plywood and some 2x6 boards across the ground where a lot of pipes are exposed during construction of the new garage. Evidently that worked okay. It's all PVC pipe, which we'd never even think about using up north where I'm from, and even underground pipe is only buried about 6". What with global warming and all, maybe it's not something to worry about in the long run.

...was single digits here the last two nites and of course it couldn't have come at a worse time as the whole house is basically gutted to the joists and rafters.

I kept the fireplace blazing both nites to keep the oil burner from firing continuously :Dou:

...insulation is going in the walls today :idea2: but we'll be in the 40's then 50's ... and supposed to be in the 60's on Monday

We may have a good claim against the spouse for negligent infliction of frostbite on the husband.
