I am not sure what forum category this might belong in. High Tech? "You Traitor" or "Get the hell outta' here". But here it is. My LSX engine swap.

The engine is out of a 2004 Cadillac Escalade. It started life as a 6.0 Liter LQ9 factory rated at 345HP. I has been upgraded with a hydraulic roller camshaft with 222/224 duration at .050" and .566/.568" lift. The heads have been swapped for CNC ported LS6 cylinder heads that flow 313 CFM on the intake and 220 CFM on the exhaust. Combinations like these typically make right around 500HP on pump gas. I have just over 3k in the engine total.

The transmission is a TH200R4 with a Circle D 245MM 3000 RPM Billet Stall converter.

Headers are ceramic coated 1 3/4 Doug's followed up by 3" mandrel bent with Walker Super Turbos out the back to T/A Performance tail pipes. The last of the pictures below is the old 2 1/2" mandrel bent exhaust.

Here are a few pictures of the progress:

I have been thinking of doing the same swap in my wagon. Even just a stock LQ9 would be great in my wagon. A stone reliable 345hp that you can drive across country.

you now have a 500% better chance of getting your car featured in one of the major mags .
kinda interesting , seems like a solid , budget power motor from what i've read .
it'll be nice in that 2013 RWD regal .

It has a Performer RPM intake manifold with a Pro-Systems custom Holley HP. The ignition is the factory 8 coil crank triggered set up powered by an MSD 6010.

You can see every detail and part used on the car in this thread:

I have to thank my friend Sonny for lending me a portion of his shop for the swap. Having a lift and a lot more space than my two car garage is very nice. Also, my old bones sure do appreciate not having to lay under the car on the floor.

Looks nice. I'm actually thinking about getting a 65' Skylark and putting an LQ9 in it. Although that's going to get some help breathing with two turbos.

This looks like a cool project! Although you are something of a "traitor" Steven - at least you won't be sportin' a Bowtie! :TU:

    BUQUICK I'm your huckleberry.

I'm interested to follow this thread. I'd like to do a LS swap into one of my old cars when it come time to freshen the engine. My current daily driver has an completely stock LS1/6M and I've been very pleased with the performance and economy.

In general, I find it easy to pull the nose and prefer to do swaps this way when possible. There are a few more specific reasons. I will be painting everything in there so it will all be disassemble to paint everything properly. Also, this is a swap, so there may be surprises in header fit and motor mount stuff. In addition, I am removing the factory climate control stuff in favor of an aftermarket system. So, all of that will be replaced with a block off plate.
