Re: question Hey Josh, Mike T is the one responsible for the bracket. This is the proto type bracket he built. He was kind enough to send it to my while others are being CNC machined. He's the one that should be all the credit for the setup, as he has worked very hard on it. I've just been sitting around waiting for the day it was done As for the Air intake being right over the header (you gota love that), I'll be fabbing up a Cold air intake that seals up the front portion of the drivers side fender. I will then stick the Filter back behind it so it's sucking cooler outside air. I'll also use this piece of Alum to hang the Alky system on.........
Rich (or maybe Mike if you are out there!), Did the crank pulley come with the ATI kit or did you get that from Mike (or did you make it yourself)? Any chance you have a photo of how it looks down bottom? How much of the kit comes from ATI and how much comes from Mike? Will Mike's kit work with other models besides the D1SC? (I apologize if these are answered elsewhere- I tried looking but couldn't find the answers) Thanks! -Bob Cunningham
Mike is going to be selling the kits complete ready to bolt on as if they were coming from ATI. The pulley is a BBC pulley that mike machined an alum adapter / spacer in order to make it work. He is selling other models, such as the P1. I don't think he's going any bigger than the D1 right now because they require a different bracket, at at this time we really don't have a block that would putup with the power it would put out. Your best bet on price would be to contact Mike. I'm not sure what the P1 and D1 kits will cost. You can email him at xsperformance@iwon.com as for a pic of the pulley, I do have one but it's too big. I'll send it to you via email. Hope this helps.
Hey Rich! When you get it done I'll race ya with my buddy's turbo'd Honda Prelude with a big wing thingie and dual fart cans..............
Power steering is in the works. Mike's working on a bracket that will use the stock pump. I'm leaning towards making one for a smalller pump.
I see, I guess I'm hoping to keep the power steering. So you have manual steering? What are the two rubber lines? Oil feed and return for the blower? Or something else? Or are these two lines hooked up to your old pump? Doesn't the blower have its own oil supply? Does this mean a NEW bracket, or another one that works in conjunction with the one that you have? Sorry about all the questions Rich. I'm just really interested..:TU:
 I have power steering. I just don't have a bracket yet. According to Mike, the PS bracket should be done very soon. The kit purchased from him will include the PS bracket. He has designed it too keep all the buick creature comforts such as ps and ac .
Thanx Rich for taking the time to answer!:beer I get it now. Keep the posts & pics a coming!! Good luck!!
Fan Rich, What elec. fan setup do you have and where did you get it? Also, I talked to SMC about the Alky kit and they mentioned that they are very close to having a setup specific for a supercharged engine. David
Re: Fan The fan is off a late 90's Dodge Caravan..... It fits good, but I think it's lacking a bit of CFM. As for the SMC kit, Steve custom built mine for the Supercharger application. This may be the basis of his Specific setup for the Superchared engines. The intake is being milled as we speak. I'll let you guys know the results.
well.... had the intake clearanced..... 1/4 inch up front, and 1/8th in the back. Test fit again and it still hit. I took it back to the shop for another 1/4 inch to be removed. This should cure it. The install should go well tomorrow.
Rich what is Mike T's sign name? as I would like to ask him about this kit for my 350 in my wagon. All the brackets should work. After all the 350 is just a bit smaller. Thanks Doug
Is it Tomorrow yet ?? Sheeesh !!! Between Rich's Supercharger and Yardley's Riv I feel like Im watching a Buick TV show unfold:laugh: Great work Rich....or patience and thanks for sharing with us all
Shesh.... I know...... It's draging out. I just barely over came the hood clearanc issue. The carb pad was shaved 1/2 inch up front and 1/4 out back. Looking at it now, I probably could have done a bit more of a rake and went 3/8 in the front and 1/8 in the back. even with shaving the front a 1/2 inch, I still had a bit of hood clearance issues. to solve them, I had the carb hat shaved about .0050. It now seems to clear fine, but it's still TIGHT. Now I just need to throw the intake back on and hook everything up. With any luck (which I haven't had much of yet  ) It should be ready to start tuning tomorrow. I'll post picks of the intake later.
That's cool to see the blower on the 455 I'd still have to be a little leary of running 11 to 1 with a blower like one person said. I run a 509 (Chevy, sorry) on my boat with a B&M 420 blower. The motor had 9.3 to 1 and the shop who has a lot of experience with blown motors, said with that much compression, 34 degrees advance and 7 pounds of boost I have to run Av-gas. (100 LL) The motor runs a flattop piston like the Buicks, so I don't know if there's any reason a Buick could tolerate more CR? Maybe, who knows. Craig
Well.... it's in and should be drivable . I still have to hook up the boost gauge and the alky kit before I take it out and beat on it a bit. Hopefully that's latter tonight. The cold air intake will be the last thing done. Hopefully tunning the carb goes well. :beer
