Sounds like we're working up to an Englishtown Smackdown, boys? :3gears: :Brow:

I way I see it, Larry, either way you lose. You either lose to a guy that got trounced by some chick in a wagon; or, you beat a guy that got trounced by some chick in a wagon. Whichever the outcome, I'm not so sure about how far I'd puff out my chest! Know what I mean? :pp

Sorry Alan, I guess I'll have to line up against you in my 'Cat as my penance....

    Ken,
I just want good weather:pray: If I can get Alan to the track on time, and then have him get his car ready on time (unlikely), maybe we can line up together. The way I look at it, I win no matter what as long as I go faster. I've made 3 changes, 3.73's, SP-1 intake, and Holley 1000 carb. Alan hasn't changed a thing (Yet). He is definitely making more HP than me, but I will 60' better, and my "combination" works together, better. The chick in "DaWagon" won't be at E-Town, so that is irrelevant to me.

    Hey LimeLisk

My scouts tell me there was a 71 lime GSX body bolted to a rotisserie sitting ontop of a trailer going the opposite direction of your new garage ?!?!?!

Did you loose something ?? Lore make a deal with your "ex" for the X ??

Don't be coy, Jason, this has your M.O. written all over it! You are the first person I thought of when I saw Alan's post!

Here is a question that goes all the way to post #1 by LARRY70GS:

Were the heat crossovers the same on your Edelbrock as the TA?
I'm asking if they were both blocked, or both open, or if maybe the Edelbrock was open and the SP1 is blocked? I am trying to decide on a manifold for myself.

How do I always get mixed up in these? I have been a good girl this year... but since we're picking on Alan...

There are no heat cross over passages on the Aluminum heads. As far as on the intake manifold, I never really noticed. I can tell you this. Aluminum conducts and dissipates heat much quicker than cast iron. My intake gets hot pretty quickly, there is no need for a crossover in my case.

If you have good heads, forget the Edelbrock, go right for the SP1. If I knew back then what I know now, I wouldn't have even considered the Performer.

Thanks Beth. I don't like picking on Alan, he's my friend, but he does like to talk trash:laugh:

Well, I finally got the AED carburetor on. Unfortunately, I could not get that pretty billet filter to stop leaking once I disturbed the seal.. It leaked from the 3/8" pipe thread to inverted flare fittings and it leaked even when I used new sealant on the thread. Very frustrating:rant: I finally gave up, took the filter off, pushed back the fittings, and put a piece of 3/8" fuel line and hose clamps where the filter was. I'll either use the Holley brass inlet filters or a metal filter with push on hose fittings.

Took a test drive and it felt good, but really came on when I nailed it. A little less throttle response at small throttle openings than the Q-jet, but more power wide open for sure. The track testing will tell the real story.
