Boobies belong to the family Sulidae, which also includes gannets. In the Galapagos, there are three boobies: the masked booby (Sula dactylatra - my favorite :Brow: , the red-footed booby (Sula sula- been slapped around p ) and the blue-footed booby (Sula nebouxii- chilled but not stirred :laugh: ). Despite the obvious color differences, the three boobies are very similar in body shape, with the masked being the largest and the blue-footed the smallest. Though small by comparison, the blue-footed booby has, proportionately, the largest tail of the three. All three have torpedo-like bodies with sharply pointed beaks. I guess they come in all shapes and sizes :Brow: :grin: :laugh:
I've stayed out of this so far. Now I'm weighing in. Masshole is okay with me. I was at Salem and met a few of them, all great guys and I know they take it in good fun. But it's important to draw the line. For example, I belong to a regional GSCA club - (Fast With Class). But I doubt we'd all like to be referred to as, well you know. Or RL as the head, well you know. :laugh:
you hit the nail on the head, its all about having FUN. we love these cars and have a blast hanging out here on the board or going to the events or anything involving the greatest cars ever built (BUICKS). we dont want to offend anyone, maybe its just our nature to be offensive. peace.
I live in Maine, and during tourist season, we have always referred to folks with Mass plates as Massholes, much as the same way the folks in mass treat us like the hillbillys of the north, like if we divorce our wife, does it means she's still our sister? Or that tooth paste was invented in maine. if was from somewhere else it would be called teeth paste! I hope no one looses sleep over this! :grin:
