Alright how about this one guys, being we are all adults here discussing this and giving JW some gray hairs. ou: Example #1 I do not hunt. I don't like it. I realize the sport of it and the "thinning of the herd" thing and I respect the sport and people that hunt and never complain about it. But as I saw on another post on this board a photo of a father with his son and a dead deer on the back of their truck. Follow me here guys. Now I open this thread thinking it is about Buicks and I see this shot of a dead buck, and my daughter walks into the room and sees this and now she is getting nightmares about killing animals. Plus being I do not like hunting I feel offended by this photo. So can we delete all the hunting posts with dead animals on it? Example #2 Yes I own guns (retired NYPD) don't like them, but still own them locked away. There is a post regarding the who's and what's on guns. Now I come across this thread about guns and my 12 year old son reads it, and now wants to shoot guns. Gun lovers will not see anything wrong with this, but again I feel offended by this post. So... Can we delete the gun posts being I look to this site for car stuff with my kids, not wanting to read posts about firearms. Example #3 There is a particular post regarding speedometers and taking photos of them at high speeds. Again my son reads this and now he wants to do 100 on the street and take a photo of it. Hmmm now this site is promoting to break traffic laws. AND....a beef cake shot is posted on the same thread of WildBill :Brow: Now my daughter sees this...geez. What is this a porn site?? o No: Get my point guys. When does it all end. Today it's the Massholes what's tomorrow??? The end of performance cars??? Because they tend to polute the air more so, and you know with all that melting of ice caps and ozone stuff, maybe we should all junk our racecars and conserve energy and help clean the air. Maybe we should all go out and hug a tree. Maybe prior to logging on this site there can be a huge bright red warning that people have to be 18 years or older to access this site. ou: To be perfectly frank here, my kids probably hear worse language on the school bus than reading on this site. I believe most kids no matter where they are from are also well aware, more so than us parents realize. The key here is self control that responsible parents must practice and teach to their kids. I am not here to rant or insult anyone in anyway. I just want to keep in the light that there is another side to things here. I hope that we are all on the same page when we believe America is all about being free. To dictate and enforce one own beliefs on another, we then lose that freedom that we all so much cherish. And if your wondering, yes I live in a liberal state, yet I am a conservative practicing Catholic right winger. But living and working in a predominate liberal area I have learned two important words. Common sense. Discussions are good, jumping the gun is not. We have to look at this from every point of view even threw views that we dislike.

do not touch I can easily say there have been many things on this site that I have found offensive - But, I'm adult enough to either throw a fit and give my 2 cents, consider the source of the offense and move on, make a snide comment, try to make a sensible post. If it becomes to rediculously sterile where you can't have some fun, I am adult enough to move on to another site. I go to church on Sundays, consider myself a christian I don't think continual religious referances have a place on a Buick board, don't care to discuss it on a Buick board - that offends me!
Here's how I look at it.... You can look at any side of the issue of censorship ... v.s. ..... decentcy... v.s. .... bordom/MOMMY!MOMMY! he said a bad word, and find a good arguement. When I post... I read it over before I hit the submit button. This gives an opportunity for me to think is this good to say?... do i really want to say that? .... will somebody take this completely wrong?.... have i written this in complete haste? I have deleted many posts after i have taken the time to write them, only to find that it would not be in good taste post it. I obviously didn't delete this one If a few here would do this, this whole thread would not exsist(all 3 pages of it). If we keep the arguemental trend we have on this board, we're going to put ourselves out of commision. That's a fact. My posting has cut in half in the last 6 months for reasons of having two new boys and having better things to do than listen to rants ( :rant: to put it better). These posts are a real drag. It's like having my 3rd grade teacher accompany me to the hotel parking lot after a race or show. can't do or say anything. Do I have my kid there? Depends on the mood of the crowd. Sometimes it is appropriate, somtimes not. I use the same judgment here(Hint, Hint). As far as what my kids see.... I am a parent. I control what they see... al least when I am in company with them. Yea, Kelsey saw the 200MPH ticket and the accompanying video. She thought that was stupid :bglasses: She saw the message on my monitor when the board was hacked. she thought that was pretty crappy. :bglasses: She hasn't seen the buck shots yet, but it would not bother me. if it did I would work with her on the subject. gotta kill it before you can grill it. The public has become far too detached from the reality of where their food comes from. Not being able to do this is way too sensitve. What a child does not know, can only harm them in todays society. Yes there are things I do not allow her to watch, discuss, or listen to. More so I trying to start concentrating on some things that I want to her notice. I feel that that is more important and positive. If I feel there is content on this board I don't want her to see,,, then she won't. Will she still learn as much about these cars as she wants to? YES! That's MY job. I have way seen more things on the Disney channel, where I have concerns of influence than on this board. (Really... not an overstatment).
Aimed at no one in particular.. well ok maybe Rick.. No, not interested in this thread enough anymore to worry and get gray hairs.. While a lot of us have important views to express, I have said my piece, and have moved on.. these types of threads continue because for those of us up north, the cars are tucked away, we are trying to duck out of Christmas shopping, and are generally bored. I hope no one is taking any of this toooo seriously.. You gents need to come on up, I will put you to work on stuff like this.. if your so bored.. these things keep me at work till 1 am.. :TU:
There are no cuss words in the traditional Lakota Language. I propose we all learn the language (and use it on the board) and not teach it to our childrenproblem solved. I volunteer to teach a class at next years BPG Nats. However, there is no known word translated to Buick, but perhaps I can consult with my Leksi and we can come up with one. White vinyl is much like black paint.........too much maintenence. If I had to choose and black and white were the only choices, I'd opt for white paint (although kinda blah) and black top and interior. It just doesn't look as good the other way around. And white paint doesn't tend to yellow as fast as white vinyl. Yep, I'm bored.......pretty soon the days wil be getting longer and spring will be on the way!

yup, the white vinyl of the interior parts to tough to keep clean.. I have to wear gloves when handling the parts, even if your hands are clean, they can leave marks. Top is Canvas, so it is nowhere near as much of an issue issue. Also, Cole's GS455 rag in the background is the same color, except black top and interior. Black top and interior ok for MN.. but the other one is going to FLA.. and black seats in a ragtop is suicided down there. JW
