Now that we all have had a few days get over the policy changes regarding replies to for sale ads and "off color" posts........there is something that I would like to say. I really hope this doesn't create a stir, but I find the term "massholes" to be very offensive. Not that I have virgin ears or have not used that word myself, but if the concern is about children reading here, I wonder what they think when they read that word? Some of the things that have been deleted from threads weren't much worse than that. Is anybody else with me on this one? o No:
That has been under discussion in the Moderator section for a short time. Please hang in there we were trying to decide what exactly to do.
just how nit-picky are we going to be? it's getting like we are a bunch of old stuffed shirts. i'am not vulgar and don't condoan it in anyway, but a little humor never hurts.
Hey, you could live in OH and be referred to as a Bengals fan. Now that's offensive! Go Vikings!
we've gotton around that one in our house by refering to the fine statesmen from that state as the ...."Mass-olay's" Dont really see this as an issue to be worried about. D.
I watched part of the game and you are correct. No humor in that one. Where's Bill Nelson when you need him?
Sorry guys, I strongly say leave it. It's his handle and he has been on a while now. I have read all the posts regarding keeping things clean and have done my best to stay out of it. Why, because I prefer to read and comment on topics related to Buicks, hence the site's name "V8 Buick". But if we are now going to now dictate handles especially when they have already been registered, then I will be the one to say this is a V-8 Board regarding Buicks "a car", not a religion, not a food recipe, not anything else. So I would demand at this point then that all topics that do not, or are not related to Buicks directly not be posted on this site and those already posted be deleted along with unrelated Buick topics. And believe me there are some silly totally non related topics that are posted. Personally I don't care and yes it does bring some diversity and humor. But like I have said, if I see a post that I may not like, I just don't open the thread and I move on. Get my point here, when is it going to stop. What is going to be next! We either do it all the way or be prudent about it. What could be next the censorship of the newsletter? I have a question, who has the authority to say to another that what they say or do is wrong to others. Is is right for a few to pass judgement, would those be just as guilty as the ones accused? Again sorry no intent offense here, but I stand strongly against this and I will argue to the hilt against it and I will not faulter.
Just so you know that after leaving the first annual BPG event in Salem, OH we were penned "MASSHOLES" by several of our now good friends. Can't we have some fun around here?
