used to go by odie (tbucketeers, t-bucket bash), heart-of-dixie-t (on the nationaltbucketalliance site), and on everything else (ratrodsrule,killbillet,h.a.m.b. and here) i go by 26Troadster, so i guess you can tell that one of my cars is a 1926 ford t roadster, that i am thinking about pulling the chevy out of and putting in a buick, still a thought, and yes the truck in the pic has a buick in it.
My mother nicknamed me "JimmyJames" when I was very young. She had monikers for each and every one of her 5 sons. (Billy Bub; Rickely Dick; Thomas Cereal; Stanley's Steamer) In my early teenage years I departed from that moniker very quickly and was big enough to make it happen. I took JimJames here @ V8Buick to think of my mother when logging in (and smile), whom I love/loved very much. The only person who calls me by my old nickname is my next in line younger brother, and I only let him get away with it because he buys me fine cigars and a bottle of fine Tequila every time we get together. Needless to say, it's always a mighty fine time........p :bglasses:
Thanks for doing that........ fighting fires, rescuing, saving lives and property. My Great-grandfather, my Grandfather, and, my Great-uncle were firefighters here in Birmingham.
I live in the gulf and sell really big marine gears. Plus I use it as a login on other sites and I wouldn't have to remember something like "reallyplainslowbuick"
The T-Type in my Avatar Picture has the two tone paint so fist my uncle and I came up with 2tone for my plate but I wanted to add the T to let everyone know it was a T-type so I'm pretty much using the plate number off of it. Wish I could change it without starting a new profile since I want to sell it and I have my 2010 Cobalt SS Turbocharged.
Mine works for me on Buick-related boards, at several levels...obvious Buick association...grew up and came of age in Dynaflow era. User title double entendre...transmission or me. Finally, in memory of my dad, 20-year Service Manager for Caithness Buick in Bethesda, MD...like trans, he was easy going.
Way back I used to drive a lot of early Ford Trucks for a wrecker service. First gear was not syncronized. To doubleclutch, you went to neutral while rolling then speeded the engine to approximately first gear RPMs and pumped the clutch to bring the input shaft of the trans to speed and if would drop right into first. Also very handy when racing a 3 on the column car. If going at it from 15 or 20 MPH roll and in 2 or 3rd I could drop back to first without stopping. Surpised a lot of guys that way. Very old school.
the motor going into my Willys is a '79 Buick 350, which I found on this site I believe. Apparently it was donated by Buick to a high school auto shop but never run, just sat in a corner for 30 years. So, maybe it should be "30 year old New SBB". :idea2:
