After finding my Electra, I took it over to my fiance's house a week or two after I brought it home. Her father saw me pull up in it and he stuck his head out the door and jokingly yelled to me "Hey you can't park that land yacht in my driveway, you're gonna leave dents in the asphalt!" With it being the largest car I've ever owned (although my '65 Lesabre was a close 2nd), it just felt right and the name stuck.
I don't know why it's taken me this long to respond to this thread. Mine should be painfully obvious. Tom (my first name) 65 (year of my car) special (model of car), and you have tom65special.
My daily drive is a Ford Falcon BA XR8. These come with a bonnet bulge so the bonnet can clear the plenum when closed. The Falcon XR8 has a brother, the XR6. Some owners of the XR6 which have 6 cylinders ( the turbo model goes like stink ) fit bulging bonnets because they do look better, or to give the perception of housing an 8 under the hood. So mine is a valid 8.
I am Lantz. It's my first name, not my last name. My great-grandpa Lantz(last name, don't know his first name) was getting really old when I was born, and he had no sons to carry on the Lantz name, so I got it as my first name. I like it. It's also unique enough, that I can use it on most forums without worrying about anyone having already taken it. I have never, and will never spell my name Lance, but people ALWAYS spell it that way unless I tell them otherwise. It's gotten to be a habit to just tell people my name is "Lantz with a tz." It's a German spelling.
Mine is from growing up on various Navy bases in my youth we always had a group of seals around and they ad a moto for life Fu-- it and drive on! If it was a situation that you can do nothing about so fido. It also helps when your last name is Sheppard so MR FIDO was born. Mark Sheppard
Well, I am a man and I have always liked the '67 Buick GS so I plugged in gsman and the handle was available. I have to say, I was a bit surprised it was available since I was a late joiner to the forum. :TU:
i am in the metal shaping business along with teaching metal shaping and selling the tools and equipment
Back in the late 90's I bought a T-shirt for my toddler son at the GS Nationals that says "My Dad drives one mean Buick and I'm next in line." Having two Buicks, I went with the plural derivative. p He now has his learners permit and has driven the GN. :3gears:
Grew up in Texas, then moved to the Chicago Suburbs.....thus the Urbancowboy, and the 0307 have to do with years i graduated.
Every car show I've been to since I got my Riv people ask me " Is that front wheel drive?"... Or I hear them telling thier friends, " That's front wheel drive."
