    Hi Rob
Glad to hear about the progress. Did Jim say what type of fuel to run ? I'm running CamTwo blue in the "X" just to play it safe! I understand you can't cut the seats for the valve and my heads have lots of track time from years ago.
Take care and post some pics.

    Chuck,

Last I heard, Rob and family were moving to Cali from FLA, and the new motor was staying in the shipping box till they got set up in the new place..

Lets see the ingredients are 1 Stage 1 4 spd GSx and add a Tri Shield built Stage 2 engine. Yes, I predict many smiles while driving this one.

Wow, can't believe I've been waiting this long to get the engine swap done :-(

Anyhow, I have everything disconnected and I'm ready to hook up the hoist and pull out the engine. Then I'll clean the underside of the car and detail it before installing the Stage 2. Have everything here to complete the swap. I'll need to have the car flatbed towed to a muffler shop to make the head pipes to connect the headers to the mufflers. Thinking I'll have them put an X-pipe in there....

    Awesome Rob!
Just one thing wrong though... Flat bed tow to the muffler shop??? Here's your chance to drive it shifting through the gears with open headers!!!

I would be interested to see the results of the testing of different air cleaners that was mentioned above.Jim, have you ever posted those results?

Head pipes removed! 100% ready to lift the old engine out. Just need a helper to guide the transmission off the crossmember and to steady things while lifting and rolling it out of the engine compartment! image.jpg image.jpg

Got the engine out! That's it for today. Tomorrow start moving items over to the Stage 2 engine and prepare to install it on Saturday. Did this by myself. Would have been a bit easier with some help but not to bad even alone.

I put the GSX on a dyno with the current engine so I could know what I had before doing the Stage 2 engine swap. It was a Dynapak 3000. We did pull the air leaner lid and it increased power by 16hp. Thats in line with what I recall Jim mentioning when he tested various setups on the dyno with my Stage 2 engine. I recall he also said that the KN air filter with the air filter lid was the same as an open carb, resulting in zero power loss.

Jim will chime in and correct me if my memory is off... image.jpg
