    Almost done

Just about done. I am planning on the air working someday and I think that a lot of stuff from an s-10 will work. Let me know what other views you may want and I will try to get them posted.

    Adapters will be available

    Alec296

After careful evaluation on the cost of these setups and availability of parts I have determined that it is best for me to manufacture, modify and sell only parts that I actually have to touch.

Due to my primary work constaints I do not have the time to surf the salvage yards for pulleys and the cost to handle and ship the rotating assemblies is to steap to past on. So heres what I propose to those you who find loitering in recycling center fun.

    1. I will modify the 4.3 chevy bracket that holds the Alternator and p/s
pump and ship that as part of the package.
    2. I will maunfacture and ship all required bracketry, there are six (7) of
    these.
    3. I will send a complete fastner kit and tool requirements to assemble the
    system.
    4. I will send a complete installation guide advising you of additional parts
that may be required to avoid conflict with the serpentine belt.
    5. I will provide you a complete parts list requirement so you can buy from
    your local recycler.

Providing you this list in advance will allows you to make sure you have the availablity of parts before sending for my installation kit.

    How does that sound?

    Update on serpentine Skylark

Finally got into the garage and did some cleanups on my system. Make a little different guard for the upper heater hose. Also cleaned up the wiring for the new alternator, moved my overflow tank to passenger side. The altenator works better with a 75 ohm resistor on the "L" wire and direct 12 V to the "S" wire. Will have details for those interested.

Good news, no problems at 6300 rpm shift!!! Tune up is getting better :Brow:
Only downer is it is harder to see the timing mark.

Larry is great to work with and has put together a nice upgrade for not a lot of money. March system are cool but $$$$$$

Anyone in the Flint area who wants to see it let me know. I will be at the Sloan show (25th to 27th) next week.

TexasT Texas, where are you from

    Can you sell me one?

I am interested in the "kit". Are you prepared to sell one? Not really ready to install it but I will have time to scrounge up the required parts from the list.

This can be removed and original parts reinstalled to return to stock if the need would arrise, correct?

    Thanks

    Yes! Yes!

    Hi Texas T

Where do you live in Texas? I have a couple of nephews living around the Hughes Helio Factory, anywhere near there?

Yes I can deliver a system, but I have had to restrict the parts I deliver to a buyer to just the ones I fabricate or recondition for the system as you may have read in previous Quotes. I'm spending to much time in the junk yards and my wife says life is to short for this at my stage of life.

Heres what I will provide and it is very simple for you to gather the other parts and modify and install them at your leasure.

I will manufacture all adapters and brackets that require major machine work or welding. This constitues:
    8 brackets and adapters
    Shopping list of parts
    A Fastner kit
    Instructions for any modifications necessary
(No machine work will be required)
    Instructions for installation

Anything you need is readily available from mid 90 model year vehicles at your local recycler.

If you are still interested send me an E-mail at "l.eaton@speednetllc.com" and I will send you a pictures of a system I am delivering monday 18th. This system is even powder coated and has additional features for which the owner paid considerably more.

I will isolate out the parts you would be buying from me, and then show you the parts you can buy from the recycler for about $50.00.

Thank you for you interest, this is a great improvment for your 455. Oh! Yes, you can restore the old system back to v-belts, we make no mods to your engine with this system.

    Pixs of Serpentine parts package

Picture 51.jpg is the basic adapter package
Picture 52.jpg are all the additional parts (pretend you see and A/C Pump, Alternator and P/S pump in the photo) you can purchase these at your local recycler. There are a few mods that you can do with a hack saw and a hand drill to attach them directly to my adapter system.

This photo shows the parts package that I feel I can provide in a reasonble period of time without delays. The only thing that is not shown is the Water pump pulley adapter and that is because I believe I have a pump and pulley combination that does not require and adapter. I will know more about this by the end of the week once I install it on my Hot Rod.

For all you do it yourselfers out there, you will feel good about having a larger part in your system because you will have all the information to get the job done. You can personalize the color schemes and such as you wish.

    Non Air Serpentine belt setup

    Hi Ray Wisn

Here is a look at the A/C compressor holder with the Non-Air idler bracket and pulley replacing the compressor.

The system is exactly th same as the A/C system execpt for this bracket and pulley.

You can look at thread #88 and compare the A/C system with this setup, I hope this helps you. I will post the setup installed on the engine as soon as I get the motor back together and in the car.

    I have my kit!!!

    Hello All,

I received my kit the other day and made a trip to the 'recycler' last week. I was able to get the a/c compressor, idler pulley and bracket for the pass side. I also picked up the pwr steering pump and bracket for the driver side. The 'recycler' removed them for me so these cost me a bit more than the estimate given above. The alternator and the tensioner were already sold from this particular vehicle so I still need these. I'll probably go with a 'quality' rebuilt alternator from the part house. I might try to find a tensioner at another yard but will probably buy new if I can't find it. I also need the crankshaft and water pump pulleys and the short water pump. Does any one have the two pulleys? If so how much? I'll keep searching in the mean time. I did pick up the belt and upper rad hose at the part house. These were Gates Brand items so they also cost a bit more than the estimate. I am very excited to begin installing but a bathrom project and some part aquisitions force me to put it off a bit yet. I'll post back when I have pix to display.

    Help is on the way,

    Hey Texas T

I can help with your parts. I have a few spares left in my attic that will yake care of your needs, these are remnants of several systems I have delivered. See your regular e-mail for details.

For the other S-system want-a-bes here is an update for you on the new simplifies S-system.

Two weeks ago I found a new crank pulley scource that will eliminate the lower crankshaft adapter. This pulley needs to be massaged to make it fit but it is smaller in diameter and cost about the same as the adapter and a USED factory GM pulley together.

    Helpful hint:
When you go to the recycler tell them you only have $XX
to spend and you want a package deal with the whole front end
of the engine if need be. Do not purchase PIECE By PIECE.
There are literally thousands of these vehicles in salvage yards
across the nation and they will crush these parts with the car.

I have not been able to get the news version together and installed on my engine as of yet, but will post as soon as I do. This version uses the short water pump with a Ford 302 CI water pump pulley and a NEW ASP Pulley on the crank. This eliminates both adapters for the W/P and Crankshaft pulleys.

    More to come.

I think I will start a new thread with the new system because it has moved into the third generation and most of the old infomation is stale.

    67RivDog RivDogg is in rehab.

Will this setup work with aluminum heads?

    If so, I'll take one.

Third generation, if you will. :TU:

I should have my short block this weekend and the heads and intake soon after. WooHoo! I am ultimately jazzed that my car is finally getting what it deserves. :) :beer

    Aluminum Huh?

If the Aluminum heads are the same dimensions as the stock parts with all the same bolt patterns to attach your factory A/C, P/S and Alternator system, YES! this system will fit and align just as the stock setup.
