Personally, I think they should stop playing the Anthem before every domestic sporting event. It has nothing to do with kneeling, I’ve felt this way for years. What’s the purpose? I could see playing it during the Super Bowl or opening night of the World Series, NBA Finals, NHL finals, etc. I would never kneel or sit during the Anthem when it is played, but to play it before every game in every league, professional or amateur, is not necessary IMO.

Yeah, lets just leave all the patriotism and flag waving to the soldiers. We sports fans are too busy getting beer and enjoying our freedoms to bother with that crap.

We play the national anthem before every pro, college, high school, and middle school game.

What about movies, or plays, or concerts? Those frequently have way more people. No national anthem at those is somehow not an issue.

I think one MLS (?) franchise already did away with it.

Hey, they're erasing any history they disagree with, so how about the National Anthem. " I don't like it (them) so lets Cancel it. Don't like you or your politics we'll cancel you to.
First they came for the Unionist and I said nothing.

If a person can't take a minute out of their important life to show respect for the country that has given them (White, Black, Asian, legal immigrant) the opportunity to be what ever they want to be then they are too self involved.
Where else in the world can someone disrespect their customers (fans and country) and still make millions of dollars for playing a game? And then preach to us like they are smarter and better than us? Professional sports needs a reset anyway, they need to realize what they do is for the entertainment of others and should be grateful for the overinflated salaries they make. Example; People that assemble parts for aircraft make a fraction of the $ of a professional athlete. Who is more important?

The "for the all lives matter friends" chart is a joke, each of the examples is for a group that is all inclusive of race and gender, the BLM movement is for a singular race and they are expecting us to think they really believe it. Why don't the BLM members clean up Chicago?, answer because black lives don't really matter to them. Fix the culture and your problems will go away. Quit blaming others for your failures. Until that is done, nothing will change.

If you say White Lives Matter your called a racist. Why is that? If a white kills a black its a hate crime, black kills a white, its just, oh well.

God bless America and I choose to stand for the National Anthem.

The irony of such "erasing history" arguments is that the Confederate Flag and Statues are backed by a whole lot of people who have bought into the "Lost Cause" myth and have sought to erase the true history and motivations of the racist and traitorous Confederates. So if "erasing history" means "getting rid of revisionist racist symbology", I'm all for it.

"If a white kills a black its a hate crime, black kills a white, its just, oh well."

Not even remotely true. Hate crime determination is based on the known and provable motivations of the perpetrator. It is not a one way street, and acting like the legal system is easier on black defendents than white defendents is poppycock.

The real question is, how does that make it worse? Killing someone for $10 and a watch is somehow not as bad as killing someone for $10, a watch, and oh by the way because I hate people like you. Seems either way you weren't too fond of the victim.

So yeah not sure how much I like the whole "hate crime" thing.

I'm all in on having a non racist society. But you can't ignore Thomas, or senators like Robert Byrd and many more. Bet their statues are left alone. Seems they get a pass in all this. in for a penny, in for a pound.

Erasing it makes it go away. Just like the child that hides behind the curtain and thinks you cant see them. They want to erase the founding fathers of this country as if they invented the use of slaves. If makes you feel better, erase everything you don't like, that is the trendy thing to do and it makes everything in the world better. Erase the Vikings, Egyptians, Romans, and every other civilization before the Civil war since they all had slaves, (some of them were even white). How may people have bought into the BLM victim mentality, that should also be erased since the FBI stats do not support their claims and they ignore all the other stats about their community. Erase it all!!!!

Come on, how many times recently have you seen the BLM protesters beating white store owners and citizens, quite a few and not one hate crime has been brought up against a black person.
How about these brave BLM protesters. Just one example. Switch the colors around and you got a hate crime.

Back to the original post. I will always stand for the National Anthem and face the United States Flag. I also show respect for the Canadian anthem and flag when its played at local sporting events. It does not take much effort to show common curtesy. Something lacking in recent generations.

    I feel a lock down :)

Five reasons we stand for the National Anthem and Flag
    1. We stand for the flag today, not to please ourselves but to honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
    2. We stand for the flag not to focus on what divides us but on what unites us, which is being an American.
    3. We stand for the flag not to pledge allegiance to a president, but to honor the reality that we have an elected president and not a lifetime king
    4. We stand not because of past or present pain caused by injustice, but to salute the principle of justice.
    5. We stand for the flag not for our generation but to set an example for the next generation.

    Why is this so bad?
You could argue that #4 is why they are kneeling "no justice" but again, all of the facts need to be presented before you can justify that argument.

Is this any different than being criticized and questioned for kneeling during the anthem?

I think people need to start minding their own business. It's gone from "that boy didn't remove his cap!" to something much more absurd.

NHRA still fighting to have a season.
Lost 2 nationals that were planned for their abbreviated season. Seattle and Brainerd Minnesota sadly. Lord knows they need some positive in each area.
The good people in those states needed a break in a positive encouraging way. Very sad.
I always see people of all walks of life with their families enjoying these events together.
Drag racing is a uniting sport.
And always starts with The National Anthem.

NHRA National at Bandimere in Colorado also I believe lost for year. Another sad day in America.
It’s a beautiful facility which I attended about 4 years ago. Bandimere family is top notch and really take care of their spectators and racers.
