Harv the car is lookin good !!!i wanted to ask you what shorty headers are you using?keep up the awesome work!!
They are TA 2012CSH I haven't fit them in the car yet. I purchased TA's engine frame bases and mounts. These mounts move the engine forward a bit which will give a little more room for headers. I'll try them and if they don't fit I guess I'll have to go back to stock exhaust manifolds. Will let you know the results. Harvey
Headers don't fit JUST TO BE CLEAR, THIS IS NOT TA'S FAULT. THEY NEVER TOLD ME THEY WOULD FIT. I DECIDED ON MY OWN TO TRY THEM. Even with the TA motor mounts they still don't fit. My bad! If anyone reading this thread would like them $250.00 shipped in the lower 48 or Canada. I've coated them with Duplicolor header paint and baked them as directed. Flat black. Picture of one of them 4 posts back. Following is TA's description: Product ID: TA_2012CSH Raw Finish Shorty 400-430-455 Headers, 1-7/8" Details Shorty. 1-7/8 Primary, Fits `67-`76 Riviera, `68-`77 Special, Skylark, GS, Sportwagon, Regal, Century. `71-`76 LeSabre,Centurion, Electra. `78-`88 Regal. Raw Price: $465.00
Hi Chris, I will deliver half way for $225.00. But you have to meet me (Everett?) and buy lunch! LOL How quick do you need them? Harvey
Don't need them real quick, will probably be a winter time project for the 69. When is your next trip down this way?
Jeez, sorry George. I haven't checked this thread for a while so I missed your question!! I couldn't get them to clear the drivers frame even with the steering column out of the car. I never did try the passenger side. Harvey
Hi Ken Yes, I've haven't posted any pics lately. I've been working on it on a less than frequent basis!! However I do have the engine & trans installed and almost ready to fire. I am going to wait until then to post more pics. Interior is all done, just needs to be installed. Thank you for watching and keeping me accountable! Harvey
Got fire in it today! Finally got it to the point that I could try to fire the engine. I like to do this before re-assembling the front end just in case there's a problem. Now that it fired up nicely on the first try it's time to do the re-assembly of the front end. I've done a bit of work on the inside also. Red interior also came with red carpet but I've decided to tone it down a bit. So black carpet it is. The carpet on the bottom of the door panels will also be black along with the dash and steering column. The console you see is from a GTO automatic that I'm going to try to modify to work with the 5 speed.
Looks good Harvey! I have a few questions if you dont mind? Did the brake lines come with the CPP brake set up? I see they routed the front brake lines around the frame pads. I had to rebend the lines from In Line Tube for my 64 disc brake conversion. What rear heater hose did you use from the heater core to the back of the block? What make is the transmission? Tremec or Richmond? Is the shifter location to far back for the Buick 4 speed console? What backspacing are the front wheels? I am flying up to Vancouver Monday morning for the week. If you have some time we should try to get together. Would love to see the car in person!
Ed, Come on down (up)! I can answer all your questions in person. I'm pretty flexible in my work. I'm about 60 mins from the Vancouver airport in a suburb called Maple Ridge. My cell is 604-649-1346. Give me a call when you arrive. I would love to meet you and show you my project. Harvey
That is looking SWEET Harvey :TU: What kind of BFG's do you have on the car ??? I can't make out the tire name.
Thank you. These are the tires: http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/tires/bf_goodrich/size/viewProductDetail.do?pc=38448
Hi Ed, Thank you for coming out tonite. It was great meeting you. :beer I always look forward to meeting fellow Buick enthusiasts. Like our cars, I think we are a little more "mature" than some other brand followers! Good luck with your projects. Cheers Harvey
