For those of you who like following restoration projects, here's mine from start and eventually to finish in this thread.

I've had this car for one year and it just sat while I finished my Aqua convert. It is now done so I'm starting the 4 speed car. There are several pics from when it arrived at my house to this Sunday when I stripped it and got it on the rotisserie. First job is to finish the trunk floor repair. Then I'll remove the rusted out frame and install new interior floors. Both sides are rusty. It will be the most ambitious project I've done but worth it in the end. I'm planning on finishing it by the summer of 2011. It is a red ext./red int./white top car. Options are PS, PB, 4 spd., buckets, consolette, AM radio and posi rear. Next update when the floors are done.

    Harvey,
You are doing what I hope to get started in the next few months. Awesome job so far! I have so many questions it's crazy!

Here are a few (I guess I'm mostly asking for more pictures :Brow: ):
1.) Please show your rotisserie mounting points in detail - looks like you are using the frame?
2.) Please show your door jamb braces in more detail.
3.) Looks like butt welds on the floor pans, yes?

Looks like another post I need to subscribe to!

    Thanks,

I've wondered for awhile. If the 68-69 guys are the "stepchildren" , what are the earlier guys who get even less coverage than the "stepchildren" ? I personally LOVE the 67 bodystyle. Can't wait to see it done.:TU:

    1. I used the frame to start but then removed it. The rotisserie is mounted at the front and rear body mounts.
    2. Made the door braces myself. Mounts at the top hinge bolts on the cowl and the door stricker mount. I've done this twice now. They are needed when cutting the complete floor out.
    3. No butt welds. I cut the pans to fit, layed them on the existing floors then spray painted around the new pan. Pulled the new pans out and cut inside the line by about 1/2". So the new pans are overlapped by that amount. Then I screwed the new pans to the old pan to make sure they all fit properly before welding. This took quite a bit of time getting everything to fit well. My job was more difficult because I needed both floor braces and the inner rocker panels. If your braces are solid save them! It will make fitting the new pans easier. Any other info you need let me know.

Awesome car! Now that is Aquamist and not Aquamarine, correct? I just brought my Aquamarine 67 hardtop home from the body shop yesterday, I swear everytime I look at it in different lighting it looks like a different color. I have yet to have it in the sunlight yet, yours sure is stunning in the sun.:bglasses: I can see this post being a hot spot for 67 owners.

It is called Aquamarine Iridescent in 1967. Yes, the color does change depending on the light. In my garage the green tone is more noticeable but in the sun the blue comes out. (I found more recent pics so I deleted the first post with pics of this car)

Harvey, is the color code K? I have a 4 speed hardtop that was a K code car.

Are you selling this one when the 4 speed is completed?

    Hi Ed
Yes, it's a K code car. And yes, the car is going to be sold. Probably next spring. We purchased a house on the ocean in WA state. We complete the transaction in June. I'm going to need some extra cash plus we soon won't have the room for all my toys. :ball: (hence, my last resto) But it's all good. We are looking forward to enjoying the new place with our kids and grandkids.
