Looks awesome topless......I will have to look for a 67 top plate too. How did you make out on your headers / steering shaft clearances . Did you have to dimple your headers ? J

Ed, FWIW, I have mounted ignition boxes on the back of the inner fender on the pass side and the firewall underneath the fender on the driver's side. If you want stealthy. It looks very clean!

Also, 66 rad tops are similar if not the same. To make your search a little bit easier.

UPDATE on my rubbing issue : I put the new front springs in this weekend MOOG p/n 5256. It definitely helped. The only rubbing is over a huge bump when it rebounds with my 17" rims .....I am going to focus on bump stops next. I have 24" from the ground to the top of my wheel well sheet metal arches with these springs and 2" drop spindles. I believe if I can control the rebound I have it licked. The springs are definitely higher sitting and stiffer...but not obnoxiously stiff....will keep everyone advised on the bump stop attempts. J

I had to drill new holes in the top of the core support for the top plate. I did ding the headers by the steering shaft but it turns out I did not need to do it. I had to clearance the passenger side header tube for the frame and grind off a little of the passenger side upper control arm closest to the firewall.

Can you send me a couple of pictures. I was trying to mount it inside under the dash.

And now back to your regular post. Sorry.

UPDATE 11-19-07 Well after putting probably 100 miles on it so far I decided it was time to nail it from a dead stop. With 2:56 gears it absolutely roasts the tires all the way through first gear then 3/4's of the way through 2nd gear. So I would agree with Adam the TA 288-94h has plenty of low end grunt.,,,mine is installed +6A. Since I still have alignment issues I cant tell yet how hard it pulls through all the gears but it feels pretty good so far. Will let you know what I find out when I get the alignment straightened out. Bottom line feels like a great cam choice even with anemic 2:56 gears.
