The brown door on the left in the last picture I presume is the entrance to the Wander Wing we have heard so much about?
Thursday 3:45, Roof is on and doormers almost done. Tomorrow and Sat and the framers will be finished. Then the roofers come. My buddy and I will be doing the painted cider siding, windows, trim, insallation and sheetrock, all plumbing and electrical, apoxy sparkle floor coat, lift install, A/C unit, etc., etc., etc., Garage doors and openers will be subbed out. Should be an azz kickin' garage when done........ole Moons wallet needs a rest !!!!!!! ou: ou: ou: ou:
Inside.............. Last shot is entrance to the one car garage that will be my redesigned workshop and entrance/exit out the back to my backyard. We put up a temporary wall because on the other side is a valuable collection of rare "BUICK" parts and mega tools that I don't want to get legs while I have workers on the property !!! :blast: :TU:
It is just about time for Ron to begin feeling the southern heat and humidity. If he makes it through the summer and hurricane season he also will have made the transition to speaking in southern tongue.
I know it gets hotter than a goats butt in a pepper patch in the deep south, but hell we got ice cold A/C over here in the high cotton area. So cold it's granny-slappin good. If I had my druthers I'd reckon I'd skedaddle my yankee azz on over to the PeeDee with my hound dawg for a dip. God willin' and the creek don't rise I'll go down yonder for some Poke Sallet, Hominy Grits and Fried Frogs Legs at the fish camp. So Jim..you think I'll get by?
Sounds like a script from this show http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRX4mlFi06A makes me want to paint my lark orange
Yes --When you return to the Big Apple for a visit, someone will have to translate. But you will have earned the right of passage as a southerner when you have noodled a 100+ pound cat out of the Pee Dee River. (Some call it Hillbilly Catfishing). Here is a good size one that took me nearly five minutes to pull out of his underwater lair. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YywwWuu-G...Xk/Dwp2Ej-qwaI/s1600/hillbillyhandfishing.jpg
One week later. Doormers are done, all plywood is installed, trim and vents installed on overhangs. Now the roofers have arrived and installed the new roof. My buddy and I have gotten just this far with the moister barrier wrap. Next week we do the cider plank sideing painted to match house. So here ya go...................
I can't imagine roofing down south! It's hot enough on a mild day for that kind of work. Those guys must drink a ton of water. The place looks great, Ron. You could almost triple stack with the height! And plenty of light coming in through the windows will limit the need for artificial light during the day. My hat's off to you, wish I was seeing something like that in my backyard. Seems you are really enjoying retirement, that's great.
House is on a corner plot with lots of mature landscaping (hard to get a total shot). 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 3 fireplaces, big deck, on cul-de-sac. Great neighbors. We love it here.
