The house I bought had a one car garage that the people mainly used as a crafts and gardening shed. Moon' having 3 fine Buicks (sold the "Most Optioned" GN) needs to have a garage to house his fine collection. So my friend who retired down here and was a contractor in California all his life has offered his awesome talents, tools and time to help ole Moon' build the garage of his dreams. He also knows all the concrete people, framers, roofers, lumber yards, laborers and anyone else will need, having built his own beautiful house down here a few years ago. He decided since we're both retired and need some "man time" away from the wives we'd tackle this project ourselves. The first picture is the existing garage/shed. This picture is fence gone, ready for tree removal guy. Next trees gone. We had to remove 5ft off shed/garage to make room for new garage. That shed/garage is going to be a connected "L" on my new garage and will be my workshop. We had to chop 5ftx12ft of concrete that was 15" thick (don't ask) to accomodate our new footings and slab. Holy moly what a pain in the ass !!!!!!!!!!!! This is what where going to build with old garage "L"ed off to the right. They'll be a lift and all air tools, sandblaster, sink and bathroom, computer station, flat screen, refridgerator, sound system, heat and A/C, awesome lighting, automatic doors and security system. Should be nice !!! More pictures to come as we progress if I live thru this build....never held a hammer before this !!!
SNOW on the roof! I thought you moved to sunny South Carolina ???????? Looks great Moon, Good Luck! Bill
If you look closely it appears the air hose terminates in the rear of his friend's pants. Unless they recently visited Taco Bell, I fear the Jack Hammer may be under-PSI'd. I just found some updated pictures of your build - you framing skilz for a first-timer are comprehensible
looks like there is a room or two upstairs to be used when the wife gives u the heave-ho! otherwise, very nice garage.
That is beautiful Ronny! Looks great. One day, I'll build something like that, One day. It sounds like even if Jo locks you out of the house, you could live the life in the Buick Man Cave. Lots of luck!:TU:
Moon,How many square feet will it be? BTW, It is good to see you have more than one skill that involves jacking.
The new garage is going to be a 24'x24' with a half a second floor because of the lift. The shed/garage connected to it is gonna be 12'x19'....do the math. o No:
You could have opted for the bobcat with jackhammer attachment to make it a little easier. That will be a great man cave when you get it finished. Congrats on the new garage.<o></o> <o></o> <o></o> Nelson <o></o>
When can I book my holiday at your new guest house  I would like around november because then it is getting cold over here. I would even wash your cars and excersice them for you so you can relax with the wife :TU:
