Ron,contemplating a lift myself, had some ice and water damage in my man cave, possibly going higher to accommodate a lift. which brand and type you thinking of?
My building at home is 42x60, has a 4 post lift with a car up and one below, a car on the open trailer, a car inside the enclosed trailer. Building is full, no more space. I have a 3 car attached garage at my home, it's full. At the office there is a 30x52 building that is full, no more room and an attached 2 car garage that is also full. I'm outa room everywhere. I thought I build the building here at home big enough. I was wrong.
I have a limited area where I can fit my garage without ruining the landscaping on my property. I could have attached a bigger one to the house but I wanted to have a separate structure so I can make all the noise I want and not have to listen to the wife. I also think what I chose enhances the look of my house and fits the circular driveway nicely.
Lift Air Tools Sandblaster Bathroom (with emergency communication system) Computer Station with "special" friend Flat Screen Fridge, all stocked to go Sound System Heat AC Awesome lighting (best kind- free, just a few empty soda bottles) Automatic Doors Security System, already installed on Biggest Red Moon also put in a pool for all his new friends, here's a picture of a recent party Nice place Ronny!
Seriously now...... It's been a slow process with the boys down south. Between fishing season, hunting season, sickness, graduations, ice storms, weddings, had to work on someone elses job, no shows, and any other cockomainy excuse they could come up with we finally got some good ole boys to commit to my garage job and here's where we are now. Foundation erected, extra dirt removed and graded, slab poured, port-o-john delivered and the framers comming on Monday to erect the damn thing......what a P-I-T-A !!!!!!!!!!!!! BiggestRed and the Stage1 are in South Carolina awaiting their new home relaxing in a brand new storage facility......
It is still up here. It will be the last to make the trip. How was the trip down Ronny. Was the gas mileage as bad as you thought? Did you hook up the vacuum advance?
The trip down was fun except for a few things. First was my gas gauge was stuck on full and I didn't notice until I drove about 60 miles and it was still on full. A long sweeping turn in a cloverleaf took care of that and wham, under a quarter of a tank. I hit the first service area on the NJ Turnpike for gas and notice a big azz honkin' screw in my left rear tire right at the edge of the tread. Since it's now about 6:30pm on a Saturday, my spare is a 70 vintage tire with no air, and the service garage is closed....it looks like I'm screwed !!! My Stage1 is rendering a whopping 10mpg my gas and air stops are frequent, (No Larry, had no time to do the vacuum line). I drove from NY to the North Carolina border and at 1:30am I gave up for 4 hrs sleep in the car at a rest stop.(prior to this stop I put about 50lbs of air in the tire as to not wake up to a flat). Woke up at 5:30am and continued to journey. The tire held up and the screw stayed in for the whole trip. 6 gas stops in total and I was home at 10am Sunday. (Andy Cardinale "70aqua_custom" was nice enough to remove the screw and pop in a plug when I got home) Thanx Andy !!! Lots of thumbs up and gas stop complements to add fun to the trip. I averaged about 70mph and it ran like a top, it used no oil at all and the oil was as clean as when I left. Not bad for an 800 mile trip. When I arrived I got a chance to take my friend for a ride and scared the hell out of him. He though the Stage1 was an animal....GrandNasty will be coming his way in a couple of weeks !!! Watch out my friend, turbo power may fill your depends !!! Keep an eye on this this thread, framing should go fast now and I'll keep posting progress pictures.:TU:
Hah hah! The "Korean Shed"! Nah, Moon's place looks a lot better. If anyone doesn't know what I'm talking about, just google korean shed. Wild.
... Shed of Doom is how it is better known Looking good Moonbeam. I thought you were bringing BiggestRed down o No:
Hey guys thanks for the posting the "Korean Shed" gives me a warm fuzzy feeling knowing I'm living in a Korean apartment. Haha. Least nothing has blown up yet in my place. Buddy across the street, they hooked his stove up wrong and had a good size fireball when we tried to fire it up to heat some stuff up for a BBQ. No one hurt. Got the main gas line shut off quick. :af:
Biggest Red has been down there for weeks. It was the first car he came up and got. This time, it was the Stage1's turn. Next is Grand Nasty.
So thats TWICE he's been in town and hasn't hooked up with his friends ? ... at least he didn't catch you with the cheese wand in action this time uzzled:
Whoa whoa whoa.... Moon has friends??!!! When and how did that happen??!!! Haha. Glad to see some progress on the garage.

Finally....................... Tuesday morning at 7:30am the framers arrived to start putting up my garage structure. This is what I started with a few months ago..................... This is what they accomplished today, tomorrow the roof goes on.............. I can visualize these two cars no longer sitting side by side, one will be on my BendPak two post lift and the other one will be parked underneath.....................
