You cannnot expect to take a pic of a car that colour in bright light and expect it to look exactly like the chips at www.autocolorlibrary.com. I think Seafoam was a Chevy name for a green color.
I voted sea mist. I think in direct sunlight it would look like Gary's original sea mist GS. Lime mist looks a 'little' darker to me. JMHO.
Seamist The color looks just like mine does in sunlight. It appears duller in shop lighting. When all the chrome and rockers are attatched it will tone the color down some also. Personally, I went with the seamist because it was the original color but, now that is the best choice I could have made as it does not get lost in the sea of reds and blues at the shows.
Side-by-Side Greens Here a great shot showing the difference between 1971 Code 43 Lime Mist Green on the left and Code 42 Willowmist Green on the right. My car is code 42 bottom and 49 top. It was repainted years ago and the shop used #43 Limemist (I didn't really notice, and besides I like Lime Mist. :Brow: ) That fender was repainted at a Buick bodyshop years later, they matched to the code on the data plate #42. (I'd completely forgotten about the change) ou: Most days, most people don't see the difference. Note the lower half of the body, you'll see they're close. This day was overcast and the difference was really shown on the upper body, and I had a camera handy.
I like the color. Unless you really want it all original-ish, I'd say put her together and get on the road. :3gears: gripe with the paint guys if you can get a discount but, the darker green looks cool. I also agree that doesn't look like lime mist or sea mist to me. So I dont know if I'll vote here..lol
Here is a picture of some fresh Sea Mist on my 70 GS Convertible. We did several spray outs to match the color from an unexposed area below the windshield side chrome trim pieces. It is very, very close to the original with some silver in it as mentioned in an earlier post. Larry
I voted for Lime Mist. But then again, my 76 Skylark is Lime Mist. The Sea Mist color always looks like it has already started to fade to me. My advice is to put the car together and enjoy it for awhile. It is going to attract attention no matter what color it is painted. Later, Randy
My 78 skylark custom- code 44 is called medium green, and looks just like seamist. I like the limemist.Green and envy go together, right?:TU:
honestly I like the lime mist better... it'll stand out more... I'd raise a stink at the paint shop for the discount though! oops! there I go giving out bad ideas again...
You guys have me totally confused. I just bought a 71 Sportwagon. It's GREEN ! ! !
