Was lucky and found a set of ported Stage 2 Te heads from a well known member of the Buick community. I don’t have a flow sheet, but assuming they flow 300 stock, and these are ported with bigger valves (2.18 and 1.81) what are your hp guesses? 30 over, forged pistons, should be 11-1 or 11.5 to one (will be built by a good Buick builder) TA 288-92H cam, SP-2 intake, Holly 950 carb, into 2 inch headers…I think car craft did a build using these heads unported with this cam, but I can’t seem to find the article.

It’ll be interesting to see if I need to change my gears and converter. But I’m excited as hell!

You will need a 4000+ stall converter. If you got those from Gary they will work.

Definitely a converter. You'll probably drive thru the one you have.

Good to know Thanks guys. Added to the list. I know it can make or break a car. Going to be a big change from what it’s used to running!

Sounds great. That cam doesn’t look to different from my comp cam extreme energy 278 but more lift.
That sounds like a real fun combo to run around with and race.
    Hope you hit your goals.

The cam is undersized imo....needs closer to 600lift and 250° to get to 600

I agree 100% if 600 plus is what you desire. It sure would be for me starting from scratch and stage 2 track eliminators. The cam is similar to my mild 9.3 to one small valve 464. But I will say these Buick combos really surprise me in their outputs.

How are you figuring 11-11.5:1 compression? At 11:1 SCR, you are at 8.4 Dynamic Compression with that cam. You are in Race Gas territory.

Ported Stage 2 TE heads will flow way more than 300 CFM on the intake side.

I am going by what I have read and spitballing. The shop building the engine will determine the actual ratio. I expect to run pump gas. As for my goals, running 11.5s was my goal. Anything over that is icing on the cake and an upgrade to a roll bar.

The TEs will go around 320~330 out of the box iirc....I ran my 11.25 to 1 combo on 93 pump...259/267 635 635 on a 108 I think it was
