The "Return to the Oven" update... Just checked the forecast for Kearney for this weekend. It doesn't sound all that bad. Friday-- Partly cloudy 93/69 10% chance of rain Saturday--Isolated thunderstorms 90/62 30% chance of rain Sunday-- Mostly cloudy 87/57 20% chance of rain. Better than last year I believe, I wasn't able to make it, but I know it was hot, hot, hot here in Omaha. Kepp fingers crossed for maybe even cooler, but keep in mind, you are entering Nebraska. John Schmidts Opel is gonna be going heads up with a N.O.S. fed 71(?) BB Camaro outa Colo. Buick vs. Chevy, side by side 8 second passes, heads up, first one there wins. And hopefully with a little luck 2 outa 3 because NO parts breakin' is allowed :grin: . One of John C.'s buddies is coming out and John S. has agreed to give him a shot. We'll get these 2 guys together at the race and see how they want it to go. This will be up to them as this is a special deal and keeping them both happy is the deal on my end. Most of us have seen John run his car, or heard about it, and it is COOL . I have talked a couple times to John Conilogue about the Camaro and it IS a player. As I recall he runs "wild street" in the NMCA. No tubs and 8 sec. runs on Nittos. Thats getting with it yall. Should be a great show for a little something to add for yall. Steve, There will be a test and tune and then a track run gamblers race in the evening. "our" Buick deal will be done Saturday afternoon sometime around 3. I would guess the racing will be done around 9-10 p.m. but as you know, this won't be the "wrap-up". Unless you aren't gonna sit around and bench race with us,lol. Maybe have a few :beer . HEY NOW John Yea sorry about the 70 Camaro very neat car. He was looking forward to some fun in the heat. The car has gone 9.09 at 149 on the 30" et streets. We are now in a class called Wild Street- Best is 9.39 at 151 I beieve class record on 275/60/15 Nitto's now trying BFG's Anyway would have been fun see ya there all. Anyone gonna be in the 9's besides John?
Typical Nebraska Road Work John S., They are repaving I-80 west of Lincoln, but it's only for about 10 miles. As far as I know the only other construction from there to Kearney is a bit east of Grand Island. I think it's one lane also. Hope everyone has a safe trip, and I'll be looking forward to some barley pop Friday night.:beer :beer P.D.
