Hey Dave! I'm here! Just spent the last day and a half getting my headers put back in. I also had to do some polishing getting ready for Americruise this weekend.
Planning on being there Friday night. Not sure on the time though. I don't get off of work til 3 p.m. I just might trailer from Lincoln straight out. Who knows! Details, details, details..

    Ready?

There'd better not be anymore ignition problems. I'm putting in (finally) a 6AL set-up I bought from "sbbuick". Also hope to have my Demon carb set right. Other than that yeah, sure, ready......

    Hey All,

I , in my procrastinating way, just made my call to the Budget host there in Kearney for my room for Saturday. Talked to Carol and she said there are still rooms available. So whats the deal ? is noone showing up or have yall made reservations elsewhere ? Hope all that are attending are gonna stay with us on Saturday:confused: . I think it'll be fun in the parking lot after the racing is over. AND Scott has picked a motel with parking available being next to Midway Chevy/Buick:TU: . I know Mike G. has his rooms already........anyone else gonna be there too ?

Also, how about a BBQ in the pits on Friday night ? I found out the consession stand is gonna be up and running for us on Saturday morning(just talked to John, lol) so that is covered and it will help show a little appreciation to the folks at the track if we patronize the consession stand a little on Saturday morn.

Leavin' for the plane NOW,lol, gotta run. Bye Bye Texas, ha ha.

I called in my reservation to the Budget Motel about a month or so ago, so Greg and I will be there. When I told her that I was with the BPG she said " Oh, Your one of those guys" Sure is nice to be included.

:TU: to Scott for getting us set up.

Nothing wrong with procrastination, why do something today that you can put off for tomorrow. I decided monday that I should take the trans out of the Buick and fix what ales it. Fortunate it was nothing more than a blown seal and a few smoked clutches. It started months ago with a slight 2/3 flair but lately is was like second gear shifting into neutral. As far a rooms being still available, you can't drink beer if your sleeping!:beer

    Computer mayhem

    Hi guys

I don't know what has been going on with my computer, but I am having the toughest time trying to get on the BPG forum and V8 Buick. Well, somehow I am on now so I just want everyone to know I am planning on attending the Kearney race this year. I will be bringing the Opel and my GN (won't let JW drive it any more). I should be arriving sometime Friday afternoon to partake in some of the Friday evening festivities. As always, looking to have some fun and enjoy the BPG event. Sooooooo, what time do we start drinking !:beer

    John,

Sorry to hear about your comp. problems and glad you got on if for even awhile. Looking forward to seeing you again in Kearney. I sent you a PM also (hint: are ya up for a little old school, 2 outa 3 match racing ? against a Chevy ?) so when you can, and if your comp. will comply, check it out. I will be there Friday afternoon also, early(hopefully). I will watch for ya.

And for everyone else that is attending. Time is almost there. Basically a week away, are yall ready ? I know I'm not, but I am pluggin' along. It helps some that the wife and brat pack are still in Texas vacationing :Brow: . I have been able to get a little work done :eek2: . The chances are getting slim for me though as time draws closer(who "really" remembers all the little things you have to do? and prepares for them, lol). Besides, "hopefully" I will be busy running around trying to keep track of all the cars :Brow: . From the sounds of things there is gonna be a few more turbo cars this year. Hopefully we have a few coming from Colo. That'll make a nice show in my opinion. Anyways...............

Looking forward to seeing all of you there of course and as always......it's never too late to ask any questions that you might have. I am getting email notifications on this thread so I know when something hits here. If there is ANYTHING I can do to help, I will do my best.

    Later............................

    Hi All!

Hope everyone has a great time! I know there are some dedicated people that help make it happen which will only make this event grow each coming year! Wish I could be there, but distance is a huge factor unfortunately.

I'm asking a big favor here to all of you going. As most east coast and eastern area guys are not making it because of distance, or other s for what ever reasons, we would still love to read about it and see the great shots of Buicks on the track and at the event, along with the members of course. What I am asking is to try to get as many shots as possible and some notes, articles, track times what ever, that I can put togther in a nice spread in the BPG Build Sheet. I know most if not all would like to see this and I can understand the time to take when documenting and taking shots at an event that you want to spend 1000% enjoying. But without any info I am left with nothing to to show off to the rest of the membership on great looking Buicks and what a great time you guys are having there. Publicity can only help make it grow each coming year.

Thanks again! I will be at Flint for the Anniversary and hope to meet up with some of you that are also planning to attend. Hope Kearney is a huge success and everyone has a great time! Be safe, go fast, and have a blast!:TU:

    NOOOO Problem Rick

I have prepared for a gathering of info specifically for you buddy. After I got your email request for this I made a note in my "must do book" on raceday book. You are golden and will have the info emailed to ya asap upon completion. ALTHOUGH.................

I think it would be super if those attending would send you some pix also. Kinda give you a bunch of choices to pick from..........So, who is the photograper in our midwest bunch ? Who knows maybe you'll start a new career. First the Plains Challenge, then Hot (chevy) Rod...........next thing ya know you'll be over seas snappin' pix of half necked tribesfolk, :eek2: , for national geographic, while ducking bamboo darts.................

OK I'm rambling. Will get you some pix for sure Rick and will forward the times and info to you as soon as I get home.

    Re: NOOOO Problem Rick

I am pretty sure I will make it out. Was hoping to get the car out too, but the back of the trailer has a nasty crack in it from my brother hauling his huge fork lift..... so probably gonna just grab some wheels and drive out for Saturday's event. I will bring both digicams and the camcorder, and of course my little helper said he would come and help if we come.

Hoping to see ya'll next week!

    FYI

Just thought of this on my way home from work this eve. For anyone traveling through Omaha on their way to Kearney. There is construction on I-80 on the west end of town. If you are in a larger rig (John Schmidt) you will need to take the detour. If you would like more info let me know and I will give more details.

Thanks Eric. I was hoping to come in from the east side of town and make the right hand turn into the track. I am not sure what exit or route number that would be. A little help would be appreciated. Obviously, I will be heading west on I80.

    Thanks.

:ball: Well, guys looks like I won't be able to make it this time. My business comes before pleasure...... I just can't get away all weekend right now. Hopefully someone will take lots of video and photos for us to watch.

    details

    John,

Here are the details. On the west edge of Omaha I-80 is being rebuilt to be 3 lanes. At exit 440/Hwy50 interchange there is a detour for heavy vehicles (semis and buses). You will need to exit I-80 at exit 440, go south approx 1 to 1 1/2 miles to hwy 370. You will turn right and go west on 370 for approx 5 miles to Gretna, Ne. In gretna you will turn left (south) onto hwy 31. Follow 31 south for approx 4 miles to I-80. This detour is very well marked and follows some good roads, although it takes you 10 mile out of the way. I would think that your rig is licenced as an RV so you don't have to take the detour. The detour is for heavier vehicles not for height or width. Hope this is enough info to help you out. See you in Kearney on Sat.

Mike, Sorry to here you will not be able to make it. Bummer Dude
