drivers they just can't seem to go around the curve slow enough, in the summer they have wiped out going around the big S curve State Highway patrol has been out a few times to take the unable to drive away and tow the car. Nobody stays in lane either guess cars don't handle well lol

We didn’t go boating yesterday, but we did today, and we came upon a whole fleet of amphibious cars. That was too cool! The red one is a local guy that we have seen before, and the other ones were from Ohio according to their boating decals on the side of the car. It was in the low 80s temperature wise but quite breezy. 69245FA6-1FF1-4057-A498-1E86DD870333.jpeg 8DB25F30-392C-42C0-82E5-7FA468EFA92A.jpeg 72439A3A-890C-4AB8-9097-6FD66CBA40B0.jpeg DE0EC95E-5EE4-4D05-BCCF-E2B849BC208E.jpeg 45BA408C-DA1B-4A8F-8C8F-3AC6FD148EB4.jpeg

I am wrong. After looking at the pictures again I see that two of them have Florida tags on them.

Pretty gutsy putting them in the water, seems like a big wake would swamp them.

I am soooo jealous of your encounter.

    Problems with those are:
Gotta make sure the bilge pump is working.
Gotta remember to dog the doors.
    Gotta hope they stay WT.

And yes, gotta hope some jerk doesn't try to swap you.

But most of them now are restored, WT, and good to go.

The fun part would be the look on your passengers face when you start to drive into the water.

But putting them in salt water? People dont drive their classics in the winter due to salt on the roads and here these guys are soaking the cars in a salt bath. Have you seen what it does to a steel boat trailer after a couple of seasons?

I saw one years ago in St Pete that had evidently always been used in salt water. It was not a pretty sight. Perhaps the rustiest intact car I have ever seen. Dude still got $5k for it because someone wanted the crazy transmission. And that was at y2k prices.

Well, to answer some questions. Steve Up North, it was definitely not salt water. We have a bunch of freshwater lakes around us that are all interconnected through a system of canals. Steve down south, what the heck does WT mean?

The guy with the red amphibious car is local and we see him taking people from his neighborhood for boat rides all the time in his car. He’s a pretty cool old man to talk to.

I worry about door dings or scratches, can't imagine what its like knowing if something goes wrong your car could sink to the bottom of the lake/river

I had a very productive day. First I raked leaves for about 2 1/2 hours. Then I edged the sidewalk and out by the road. Then I mowed the yard. It was only 78° but I was sweating at times. I really don’t mind the heat. It’s only 6:18 PM and the temperature is already down to 73° which makes the toes in my flip-flops feel a bit chilly!

    Dang Mike,
I was in a johnboat last week and I worried about it sinking! It wasn’t so much that we couldn’t have gone back and found the boat and dragged it to shore somehow. It was about how much beer we were going to lose.

In the NYC/Long Island area, our Winter has been incredibly warm with no snow to speak of so far. It was in the mid 50's yesterday, and I took the GS out for a ride. Today should be well into the 60's. I hope it stays this way, but I keep thinking we will get slammed at some point before Spring arrives.:)
