Wisconsin also has an open carry law. Meaning you can carry unconcealed loaded firearms in public. I’ve seen it.

The government can do more to help slow the fentanyl crisis, that would be securing the southern border. We send millions of dollars to other countries for questionable reasons while bickering over the security of our southern border. We now have an "immigration" problem and a huge drug problem down there and basically nothing is done. Why is that? Don't you think at minimum the drug issue would be considered a national security problem? These relatively small operations like Operation Lone Star are not enough. Securing the entire southern border is a win-win situation with the drug and illegal migration occurring.

Pretty scary to think what this operation missed and is occurring every day at the bord

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) announced Thursday that in this year alone they have seized enough fentanyl crossing the border to kill 200 million people.

The drug seizures are part of Operation Lone Star – a Texas initiative to curb entry of human traffickers and drug runners into the state.

According to new data provided by the Texas DPS on Thursday, Operation Lone Star has seized 160 pounds of fentanyl within its targeted area. Other drugs seized within that area include marijuana (13,494 pounds), cocaine (2,430 pounds), meth (1,647 pounds), and heroin (37 pounds).

Combining activity inside and outside of Operation Lone Star's area of interest, the Texas DPS has seized 886 pounds of fentanyl – approximately 200,790,522 lethal doses, according to data provided by the DPS in a slide presentation.

A spokesperson also presented data showing Operation Lone Star has resulted in at least 165,497 migrant apprehensions and referrals. Operation Lone Star reported the additional seizure of 477 firearms, as well as over 10,000 criminal arrests.

Ohio does too and I've seen it myself. I CCW and allowed the open carrier to catch a glimpse of my pistol, noting to him (we were in a State of Ohio liquor store) that at that moment that store was the absolute best protected store in Ohio. LOL,

Carry every day Bill.....you may not protect yourself or your family that day but you may protect or stop harm to others or stop a mass shooting before law enforcement is able to do anything.....
Those are the words to me of my neighbor and good friend who was a 25 year veteran of the Indiana State Police and then our county Sheriff for 8 years and is now a Federal guard.

Yes, I am curious who is stopping these drug runners on the border and recording them as Americans (or recording ANYTHING for that manner).
Pretty much thought it was just a flood of humanity.

So it sounds like these drug runnin Americans are illegally going across the border successfully & then getting caught coming back across the border with the drugs they scored but getting caught that time?
    Hell,that sounds totally legit:rolleyes:

Not exactly.....this one I had to look up as I had forgotten about it. Its more nuanced than just, "The NRA wants the mentally insane to have guns!!" I'm sure you can understand both sides of the argument

If that percentage is correct, there must be tons of fentanyl being smuggled into America. This recent arrest of a Mexican truck driver by Arizona State Troopers in Nogales AZ resulted in the seizure of 173 lbs of fentanyl worth approx 3.1 million. The driver also had over 1,000 lbs of methamphetamines and 22 lbs of suspected cocaine. I'm sure this isn't an isolated, one off case.

This was the second arrest of a smuggler in a four day period. I have not yet ascertained citizenship of the first person.

Registering a firearm is a step toward tyranny. Nations that have gun registries know exactly who to visit to confiscate them. That is completely against the intent of the US Second Amendment.

Most recently, the Taliban used records to track down gun owners and those that helped the US. So, don't say it can't happen. It has many times before and it will again.
