I agree, Dave. The first things we heard about the Bulldog block was everything that was wrong with it before it had even been cast. While I am disappointed in the timetable, who else stepped up and put their money and energy where their mouth was? Yeah, alot of investors did too, something I didn't have the nerve to do. But that's nothing like doing the work involved.

I will speculate that it is one of the current V-6 head makers. Champion? It's not a stretch to convert their head design to a V-8. Change the exhaust port configuration being the main thing.

The strategy seems possibly good. A 350 will fit where the V-6 does, more cubes, 8 cyls, and maybe good turbo retrofit potential. That would put them back in the game against the turbo'd Mustangs and still be all Buick. How complicaated a ful conversion would be, I really don't know. Will a 3.8 turbo front cover fit a 350?

They get to move into the only V-8 Buick market niche left. A good move for that reason, and as answer to TA entering the V-6 parts market.

As a package, I think I would go that route for a RELIABLE 600-700 horsepower if it were comparable in price to doing a big-block of the same power level. Needs: Rods, heads, turbo setup, computer, anything else?

Pretty quick here the buick 350 is going to get the respect it deserves.

600-700 Horsepower. That's what it is going to take to kick on the Turbo'd Mustangs and such. I like D-Con's Idea. Besides, other than the just installed Nitrous kit I have been running 13.50's for 10 years now. The Nitrous is great but I woud like to have that power all the time. Just think adding my 125 shot of Nitrous to a good set of Alum Heads and a Single Plane Intake. Sounds like good mid 11's to me. With a 10.99 not far away.

And then we can give the new Z06's a run for their money! 65 grand worth!
Wouldn't that be a great feeling?!

I have noticed that this thread has been going on for 2 years now and nothing has happened yet. Everybody I know with Mustangs and Talons and Turbos are going low 11's and such. Sometimes in the mid 10's. If the 350 can't take the 500 hp that I have given it with nitrous then the motor won't last long. Maybe it is time to go to the 455. Maybe this is why we haven't seen 350 heads and intake, hey the 455 is there why don'you just build that and buy the parts that are there. Maybe that is why you don't see 350 parts. 13.50 Buick without nitrous is getting old. See it is even working on me. Out with the slow and in with the fast. And 13.50 is quick with a big 3800lb with me in it car. I want to be different ...Give me those Heads and Intake!

I thought Jim Burek had built a 1000hp 350. I don't know the details, but a search should unveil something.

I think that someone else built that 1000 Hp 350 just waiting to here more results from that which I am really excited about. I think that Jim Burek did build a 500+ hp 350 for someone else and that sounded very good, But I think the owner is a very busy person and probably has not had much time to get to the track to see how it runs. I am still waiting to hear how this car is running. I think once this 1000 Hp 350 gets going and holds up well I think you will see all kinds of parts for the 350. The block seems to be very strong just need better rods and cranks singleplane intake and a 250 shot of Nitrous. :Brow: :TU:

billmah's buddy built the 1000hp turbo 350 (700?hp w/o nitrous or forced induction).

burek did the 550hp normally aspirated 350. last i saw i thought the owner was having to sell that due to unrelated money problems?

Yep...I still got my 350

I had it up for sale as I wasn't sure what was happening employment-wise. Currently it's at Jim Burek's as he's tightening the clearences on the bottom-end and going to port the heads alittle more to gain some cfm's. I'm keeping the engine as there's alot of money and time invested in it. If anyone who has an engine built like this whether it's a SBB or BBB will understand the patience it takes for it's completion to arrive. With about 50 hours on the dyno there's alot of R&D done on this motor. Plus, with my brother having a 11 second turbo Regal and Pat "BigNastyGS" getting his car down in time I have some competiton to beat:laugh: My next venture is getting ahold of Sonny Seal so I can get some intake adapters made to put a good single plane intake on to see what numbers we can increase.

I am still VERY interested in a single plane intake. I really think that my current intake (t/a) is limiting what my engine could do. I have the valve train setup and cam dimensions to easily run 6500 rpm, but the intake isn't really helping me make any power above 5000-5500. SOMEBODY HELP!!!!

On a happier note, I pulled out a 12.95 (no juice) and a 1.713 60ft. last time at the track...I love my new air bags! :Brow:
