    In one word - AWESOME!

In more than one word: I hope that they design these parts well! I wonder what kind of flow #'s they are shooting for, and what kind of RPM range??

Whatever the case may be, I am all ears!!

Who is Bulldog Performance? What kind of stuff did they have on display? I did a yahoo search and came up empty. I ran the phone number in google (just plug it in as above in the google search box) and it came up with a person named Christina.

    This is, indeed, exciting...

I can smell an Aluminum headed Buick 350 with a 5 speed in a 64-65-66-67 Skylark/Chevelle (to make them squirm :Brow: ) G Machine. :Brow: :Brow: :Brow: :Brow:

I'd imagine that someone from Bulldog must surf this BB.

Anyone know if this is true, and who it might be?

BUICK535 (Jim Burek of PAE Enterprises) is heading the cast iron block development with Bulldog.

    He frequents this site :)

what J.W. stated makes sense 'cause when i grabbed the information at the table i also got some P.A.E. info at the same table - AND - on that table was a large chunk of iron ( or a reasonable facsimile )that look'd amazingly similar to an engine that wasn't machined yet and several guys were standing there discussing that item with a gentleman in glasses that seemed to know what he was talking about . just a little additional info for us unwashed masses . Correct me if I'm wrong but...............

    Guys:

It is my understanding that with conventional iron heads, the sbb can produce more power than available rods can handle.

What would be the upside of AL heads other than weight, all things equal?

That's what I'm saying! GIVE ME RODS OR GIVE ME DEATH!

    well maybe not death...

Aluminum heads are all good but there are alot of other parts lacking here. I just ordered my engine kit from TA, the 350 forged pistons are discontinued. I was hoping for some 30 overs, but had to settle for standard bore, cause they didn't have any 30's left. Luckily my block measures up like it did from the factory...

Re: Correct me if I'm wrong but...............

Is that really a fact? What is that guy with the Fast Appollo doing for rods?

I didn't think that a set of properly set up cap screw rods would have many problems...

Jim Burek is doing my engine and he's able to get Wiseco pistons for it. You might look into going that route since they are able to give you more configurations than the T/A pistons. When I spoke to Jim he mentioned that he was working with people to get the aluminum heads out for the 350, plus a new single plane intake manifold too:grin: It seems like there is finally someone willing to help us 350 guys out. I feel that with enough product support for the 350 we can give the BBB a run for there money.

    rods???

no good rods available ??? thats because the "rod-gods" have not seen a market for the parts , if we show interest in serious parts then the serious parts will show up . didn't you ever see the movie "field of buick dreams" . Del

I'm not positive, but I believe that 231 pistons will work in a 350. They share bore size and compression height and I bet that the wristpin is the same size too. Buick probably used the same psitons for these engines form the factory.
There seems to be a decent selection of 231 pistons from companies like JE, so I think the 350 is ok as far as pistons go.

FYI, Bulldog Performance is also making aluminum heads and single plane intakes for the Cadillac 500. Apparently the first sets have just been finished and delivered. It might be worthwhile keeping an eye on how Bulldogs caddy heads perform. I'm sure the MTS message board will have updates.

Here's a little something to make your mouth water (just imagine these for a buick 350).....

    GSXMEN Got Jesus?

Brien - Thanks for those links!!:TU: I had heard over on the MTS board of rumors of alum. heads coming out. Not sure how long that has been in the works - but it sure is great news!!

The Caddy 500's have a similar problem as our 350's - mild heads and lousy rods. At least from a highly modified point of view.

I'm glad to see someone is finally going to support all the 350 Buick owners out there!!:TU: Now I just hope JB gets the support of all the 350 owners!!!:Smarty:

Rods and girdles should be next on the 'wish list'!:Brow:

    lucky I guess

I called yesterday to order the same kit and forged was not an option in any size. You must have got the last of the bunch. Either that or Dave presumed I wasn't interested in Std. bore.

    You lucked out!
