I can't wait to get the 4 doors back on my '50 Super. Just stripped her down, sprayed flat clear over black epoxy primer. All new wiring. New floors (did NOT see that coming), detailed the 401 Nailhead all proper, new interior.....soon...real soon....
those are all awsome 4 doors I just dont care for the 4dcoorcoupes like the 68-72 skylarks loved my buddues old 67 4door special...though the 2door version would have been more sick to have!
Ah, the old 2dr vs. 4dr debate. I own a 4dr and admit I wish it was a 2dr. I've even thought about converting it to a 2dr at some point. One cool thing though, is that my car actually gets a lot more interest than even I think it deserves. I guess there's something different about a loud and lumpy idling 4dr Buick with slot mag that makes people look?
I've seen those before. I guess I should have said "I have never seen a production model...." I've got a picture somewhere of an '05-ish Mustang wagon, but it's not a 4-door.. Found it:
My first car was a 4-door Skylark. I always wanted it back to put a 455 in it. Grew up in 4-doors. My moms 4-door Skylark blew alot of 2 doors off the road.
I'm not really a four door fan and will never spend money restoring one. I won't even buy a pillarless a four door '56 Cadillac no matter how bad I want a '56 and can't afford a solid two door. I do like wagons, though, and will probably get serious about finding one to restore before long. And it will have to be a five door - not a big fan of the Nomads. Is that weird or what?
I don't mind 4 doors; my '46 Super is a 4 door, I would have prefered a Sedanette or a convertible, but could never afford it. And yes, 4 door cars generally are unmolested, so in theory resto costs are a little more predictable. I've had quite a few 4 door Buicks, and the odd 4 door Mercedes as well. Currently I'm looking for an old 51-53 Mercedes 220, and chances are it'll be a 4 door because to look at coupes or convertibles would be way beyond what I'm prepared to spend. One thing that is nice about the recent trends in old car prices; a lot of 4 door cars that normally would have been crushed or parted out are now being restored. It's good to see that these cars are finally getting some respect.
Four doors are great cars. I drive one every day (Chrysler 300 AWD Hemi). I just bought two in the last month, a 61 Invicta 4 door hardtop and a 61 LeSabre 4 door hardtop. One will soon be parted out and the other one will be for sale as soon as I get some parts I need off of it for my 2 door.
I've got two four-door vehicles. So I'm probably biased. Speaking of Chargers, I spanked on on the interstate this weekend, I'll let you guess which four-door did the spanking. Hint: the '71 is in storage. :Brow:
I have my share of 4 doors: 56 Buick Century Riviera, 63 Buick Wildcat factory 4 Speed, 92 Buick Roadmaster, Hopefully by the fall 2012 Regal GS
I wouldnt mind picking the kids up from school in this. I dont know who the owner of this is but I think it looks great.:TU:
in all farness my buick is the only 2nd 2 door car ive ever owned idk if my 01 truck counts its reg cab but it had 2 doors so it would be 3 if so
