Oh geezzzzzz tell the truth DT Seattle is 3 times further than Paine field but still farther than Everett waterfront.
Since Seattle got brought up I had to got to harbor view hospital. The hospitals underground garage smells worse that than the alleys in the pioneer square district.
Cant afford It.... Arlington.. Nelsons fuels 11/19. 3.82 for reg grade 4.38 for pre grade corn-less fuels
So…if ‘crummy’ inlaws are penguins, what are the folks who ruin cities with begging and excrement? Pigeons? Patrick
So I'll chime in on Seattle again. Lived my 61 years local. I grew up here and once I got of age we went to concerts ,stores, tourist, destination , bars and restaurants. It WAS a great place. a few panhandlers but nothing aggressive.About ten years ago it went off a cliff as far as the homeless problem. I didn't go as much but the better half liked to hit the Christmas lights and decorations and had season tickets to a theater downtown. It got steadily worse side walks smelling like piss, feces on the sidewalks and of coarse lots of needles. If you parked your car on the street at least a 50% chance your windows would be broken out to steal anything left behind when you got back.Very aggressive begging on every corner it seemed. King county Court house has locked its doors for the softy of their employees due the camp in Pioneer square next door and the rapes and stabbings by the homeless. Now the freeways are lined with homeless camps-tarps tents and garbage. But not only that almost any street any where. Today's news was cleaning out a camp on a elementary school property that has been there a year plus littered with garbage and needles. great for the kids that went there and couldn't have daily recess. As locals we do not ever go downtown anymore ,Got rid of the theater ticket and to tell the truth I would not go to a event there for free. It its not only Seattle thou, I live in suburbs about 20 miles south. I know of two homeless camps 10 minutes in different directions from my house, each one has 6 t0 15 motor homes piles of garbage, stripped cars. One of which about a week ago they took 12 stolen cars from. btw this area used to be a place with soccer fields, community gardens and since next to a river lots of fisherman. no one in there sane mind goes there now due to safety risk. So those few that think that the homeless are not a problem have their heads berried in the sand. Just a few years ago Seattle was a beautiful area and now its a sewer in every direction. and yes these are the same homeless at the freeway off ramps, grocery stores, gas stations, most busy corners begging
Honestly the best thing you can do is side carry.... When WTP show them they a outnumbered 80/20 they will fade away....
These cities have been run by the same group of people for a long time and have been voted in by the residents. When it gets too bad, the residents leave and try the same garbage in a new place. You can't fix stupid. Whats the definition of insanity?
True. But be vigilant-when you move away from it, don’t let your guard down. Don’t feed a mouse and don’t forget to vote against the newcomers who want to feed them. Patrick
Interesting how the city of Hollywood paid him a bunch of money to leave and never come back. They don't try to do that with career criminals, annoying political gadflies, crazy code violators, felons, scammers, or anyone else. Alnost like helping the homeless was the last straw.
Sounds EXACTLY like here, Roy, just a much bigger population. I got off the plane at SEA-TAC last year and had to take an uber 27 miles to pick up my parents "new" car and drive it here to my house. Don't remember what the area was called, but I do remember driving by, and through, exactly what you're talking about. I recall thinking it looked oh so familiar, but bigger, and how sad I was to know my city is going down the same path. It's insane, and depressing. I used to be happy and proud to live here. Now it's embarrassing.
Lucas Ya if I remember you headed north to Lynwood but that’ Irrelevant you can head any direction from SeaTac and see it Sad the same things that of happened in my big city have moved to your smaller city. I would’ve thought in Montana these things wouldnt spread but the same ideas that run this state are now are in charge there. Yes it’s a embarrassment to live here too Such a dirty crime ridden area any more
Yep, Lynnwood I do believe. We don't have them right on the freeway through town like you yet, I couldn't believe that when I saw it. Few feet away from cars running by at 70+ mph 24 hrs a day.... I saw a guy taking a dump from the backseat of my non English speaking driver's mini van. Impressive.
Lucas If you were driving north you didnt see anything,,,, Southbound WW...The freeways are elevated in that part of Seattle so when you drive south you see more... Those encampments have been there for 25ish years.
I'm glad I did didn't go south ... like I said, North looks a lot like here now. Guess in 15 years I can look forward to it "going south". Lord willing I won't live in this city to see it.
Seattle remains beautiful and prosperous, despite the negativity expressed here and the reality of homeless encampments. The I5 corridor has definitely gained a lot of encampments over the last 10 years, although these tend to move around. This is mostly because the right of way near the freeway isn't close enough to people's homes for them to care. Literally "not in my back yard". This is a failure of our society one way or the other, not a political issue, despite how so many here want to pretend it's a black and white thing. Are their some who take advantage and beg, but could be working? Absolutlely. There are also many people who are "working" but are actually worthless leaches and don't actually do anything but get paid handsomely because they can fit in and play the game. Kindness to others, and respecting the fact that you do not know what they are going through were taught to me as basic values. Apparently not popular values here.
