How many "cars" do you own?

It's been really nice here this week, so I've been driving one of the "toys" each day. One of the new guys asked me "How many f*****' cars do you own, anyway?!?". I had to think for a moment to come up with the answer........My tally after thinking about it is:

    8 running, 0 non-running.

For the first time in a very long time, every single one of my vehicles runs/drives/stops under it's own power (that doesn't mean they're done, just that I COULD drive them if I want).

So what's your total of running and non-op?

Personally, total 7. 2 drag race cars, one running one will be soonish. 2 going to be restored. 2 trucks that are stored for winter, one of them for towing and one for fun. and wifes dd.

Not counting the 3 delivery vehicles for the store, which I drive daily to and from work.

A real car guy always has one lifetime resto project :) 4 complete, running cars. One car that's in pieces. Some of which are scattered around the house.

My plates for 6 of them are $40-50/year each, so that's less than $300/year for 6. The insurance on them generally runs me about $15-20/mo each, and in the winter they go on storage insurance, which is $4/month each, so that's only $24/mo for insurance for 6 of them for about 5 months. The one car that costs the most would be my Infiniti, but I share that with my parents so they have a car when they are down here for the month or two they visit from Alaska. They pay for the plates, and it's only insured for a couple months out of the year while they're in the state. We don't have annual inspections here: license it, insure it, and go. So, in total, I guarantee I spend less a year on plates and insurance for 8 old vehicles then I would for one new truck. Plus I save up to buy each of them outright, so no car payments. Owning cool old stuff in the state of Montana is grand.

I’ve got 3 personally and my wife’s car.

1985 m1009 cucv blazer (off-road and occasional dd)
2007 2500hd Sierra (dd, tow rig)
1970 Buick Gs (under the knife and not driving)
Wife has a 2006 civic ex sedan (she drives 2 miles a day, 1 mile to the train and back)

If I had a larger driveway or garage I’d probably have more but just don’t have the room.
