70 QQ A/C 4-spd car. Frame on restoration. Have entertained selling due to garage space limitations. If someone is interested, let me know. Mike Scally 303-652-2827
Actually, the GSX colors are two steps removed from Greek mythology. The color names were inspired by the space program. "Apollo" White as in the Apollo XI mission to the moon on a Saturn (yellow) V rocket.
Guys I would love to have an X ,but couldn't come up with that kind of cash to get one so, if you could post some pics so the ones that have not can dream!
Yep - me too. Been there, done that. Still kinda kicking myself 14 years after unloading her. It's still out there too - whoever bought it from Mark.
MIKE Scally did you get the GSX late 1989 or 1990 and how much would it take to get the GSX out of your garage and in to mine?
My car is #273. Came out of Fla, Minn, and Michigan. Bruce Armstrong and John Chamberlain are the previous owners for the last 25 years. If truly interested, give me a call. 303-652-2827. Sitting in the garage all buttoned up. Have to keep that near perfect lacquer paint and stripes clean!!
Here are the most organized stats on what 70-72 X cars are left. I think when last updated Mark had six 72 X cars listed. http://www.buickgsx.net/gsxhome.htm I also know of a fair number that are not registered.
There are currently 8 72 GSX's registered and I know of at least one additional one that is not in the registry. The registry needs updating in a bad way. I will be sending out a mailer after the first of the year. I unfortunately missed last year so I need to make up for that. I also did not get information out to some people that registered in the last year. I was hoping to add the information to the latest mailing. They will get all the previous mailings when I mail the new mailer. I will also be udpating the website after the first of the year and modifing it to allow to me update it easier and more frequently. I am still here, I still have the passion for cars and the registry is still active even though I get very few new cars each year, I think I have made good progress in finding the remaining cars. As always, it takes the cooperartion of the owners to make a registry work. Remeber the registry is for the owners and the gathering and propigation of information. I have never asked for money nor do I every intend to. I consider it part of the cost of my hobby. If I can help anyone in anyone I will do the best I can. Mark
I know of a number not in your site's database. I will do what I can to get them to provide the info. Mark could you post the current tally by year?
10-10 questions How do you know if a 10-10 70 GS 455 is an X? Suppose I find a 70 GS 455 10-10 body with a flint code VIN and a march '70 sequence #. With a VIN like that, would it have to be a GSX? Did Buick make any 10-10 GS 455s at the same time, at the same plant as GSX's? Thanks, Kevin
Aside from paperwork which WR has, not Sloan, the first thing you might consider is the steering wheel size. They were different between an Artic white GS car and a 70 GSX. The paint work, meaning the stripes, have to be taken with the understanding that they can be added on. So can the 70 GSX wheel but it is so hard to find and original one.
In answer to your question there were gs 455's made with 10/10 paint codes there are other items that help in proving a real gsx.. So many items having been reproduced, the few items that are left will remain hopefully unpublished except known by gsx owners.
