Technical problem with weenie size tires and /or incorrect springs to be corrected. Bigger fish to fry first as can be seen.
What a great story, they're still out there if you look hard enough. Congrats on the new/old X.....:TU:
Thanks for sharing the pictures Jim Things like this really push our buttons to get working on our cars:TU:
Awsome car Jim!!!!!!! Very nice to hear that there are some still out there. Now find me a 70 GS with out A/C please!!!! I need to make a trip to your place and I won't need a plane.
Great story, great car!! If you ever get too old to push in the clutch, I would be more than happy to take it off your hands:Brow:
Wow, what a great story and what a great car! Congratulations, Jim! :TU: You sure can keep a secret! You going to write it up for the Build Sheet??? Would sure make a great feature. Keep the pics coming.
Congrats Jim....a Wonderful find. ....Just one Q. that hasn't been asked yet - why did Danny sell after all these years ??
Ken It has the original interior and it is so nice. I asked how and the answer is that it had the old style bumpy plastic covers on it. So you know what that means? I am just stating to look under the seats and so forth for the paperwork. I see some still in place. Thought I might photo the removal while it is 70 degrees here because you know it cannot stay like this. Feels like I am in Phoenix.
Alan I presume you mean Brian. If so , I am really not the person with standing to answer that question. It is too personal a thing to ask someone. ( Talking of him not me) I am sure this has to be close to the record length for a resto and it is not through yet. I think that would wear you down a bit. Your taste and your needs can change over 20--25 years. Perhaps it was having a chance to make a hand off to another Buick person who will keep it, complete it , and hopefully tell the story of the car if other Buick people are interested in listening.
Congratulations Jim :beer I hope you would consider registering this car with both Mark M. and myself. Thanks!
Sure Marco I cannot remember if we registered our old one or not. Would you accept a window sticker for purposes of authentication. I have not looked too hard for the paper work but since it has original interior I would bet it is there. I do see some under the passenger seat but I have not taken the seat out yet. to remove it. Where is Duane? He is the guru of finding the paper?
Jim, if the dash is still hanging out, look in the driver a-pillar, that's where we found the body production sheet in my X. Also have heard under the dash on the passenger side for the build sheet, but for some reason, alot of cars from Flint there is never much paperwork found! And by the way, happy birthday, nice gift, wanna adopt me? I can shift a 4 speed, too! Roberta
Roberta Do you mean take the cover off th A pillar? Can you be more specific about where on the passenger side?
